Mekeni: Kapampangan Tocino

by Yla

You'll find it everywhere in Pampanga and even outside of Pampanga, Manila, in the Visayas and even in Mindanao. Tocino is a one of the highlights of Kapampangan cuisine. Don't forget to get a pack from your nearest gocery store or supermarket. Keep refrigerated, if not, taste will take a sour note.To cook 1 kilo tocino: (at least in my own way) wash meat and cut if necessary, cook with 1/4 cup water in covered pan. When water has evaporated and contents have starting to sizzle, add 2 tbsp canola oil and adjust to low heat. Allow to cook in own oil. Turn or stir every 3 minutes for even cooking until golden brown. Do not over cook. Remove and drain. Great with fried rice and eggs.Mekeni is a trusted tocino source and has been certified ISO 22000 on Food Safety, so you're sure you're getting quality tocino. about P50-60 for half kilo portion

SM Mall, Angeles: Mall Shopping in style

by MartinD06

SM Mall is a huge shopping center at the entrance to the Clark Airbase/Special Economic Zone. There are native foods, arts, restaurants, as well as what you would find in any large mall in the world. SM Mall has become a big part of the social scene for the area. People go there to meet and eat, and shop. There are school plays and musical events about every weekend and evening. If you need some clothing or items for your trip, this is the best and most cost effective place to go. There are several good restaurants, and a food court. tourist items (woven bamboo, carvings), shirts, sandals, novelty items. varies

SM City in Clark: Biggest Mall

by myspices

SM City Clark is a big departmental store and hypermarket and with many small outlets selling various products - household, electronics, computer hard and softwares and general items. It is two storey and besides the large foodcourt within, there are also many other side stalls selling food and drinks. In the Mall, you will find fast food outlets like Jollibee, KFC, Shakey.. dinning for korean, japanese, chinese food. Arcades and indoor amusement parks and cinemas - it's practically a one-stop shopping centre - it has something for everyone. It is also a place where most families will go during the weekends.See more pictures of interior of mall anything your heart desires .... reasonably priced

Street vendors: Some viagra sir?

by xaver

Now selecting an appropriate Type for this Shop isn't quite easy: toys and games? Local craft? Hobbies? Food and drink? Boh, anyway having been around Asia quite a lot, I was used to see street vendors selling any kind of goods, but this was the first time I have seen viagra street vendors and, basing on their quantity it must be also a good business here, then I do not know if it is a coincidence or what, but I have not met any clothes vendor. No idea, didn't dare to ask the price.

Typical Market: Markets and Sari Sari stores!

by Travel2write

Being from the farmlands in the US, open air markets are nothing new to me. A little differnt having buses and cars driving buy, but that's how they advertise. Supermarkets are off and running, but a majority of all groceries sold in the PI are similar to this one. Whatever looks good. Cheap, or lets say affordable!
