I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and its always fun being there. The service is good and the ambience is nice. Although its a bit expensive to dine there, its really worth it. They have the best sushi in town!
Favorite Dish: Kai Sei serves a variety of dishes from tempura to chicken teriyaki to different types of sushi. My personal favorite is their California Maki. The mangoes, the rice and the caviar go so well together, just dip it in the sauce they give you.
Calea has been known for its delicious cakes and desserts not just in Bacolod but all over the Philippines--even the world(my dad found a comment on some forum wherein they said Calea had the best cakes). They have three branches in the city, Lacson Street(beside L' Fisher), at Robinson's Place(ground floor) and their most recent branch is at East Block. Aside from their cakes, pies and other desserts, they also offer sandwiches and pasta. My best friend and I ate lunch there one time and their sandwiches are also delicious but also a bit expensive. The ambience is also nice especially at the East Block branch because its modern but very comfortable.
Favorite Dish: Their Sausage Ham and Cheese Toasts were delicious. I loved that they used Italian sausage. But what they're really famous for are their desserts. Their Pecan Pie is heaven. They serve it with ice cream on top.
When it comes to cakes, Calea is the place to be. Their cakes are really good and sought-after by the locals and visitors. They serve variety of cakes to choose from, even coffee and tea!
They have the main branch at Lacson St., and a branch in Robinson's Mall and the other one on East Block, near Lopue's and the New Gov't. Center. The shop in Lacson St., is usually full of people at night time, so if you're lucky you can have seats available, but if not, then better do the take-out. ;)
It is a good place to hang-out after dinner or to meet some friends to have coffee and cakes while chitchatting. ;)
Favorite Dish: Blueberry cheesecake and chocolate cake - mouth-watering!!!!
Mc Donald's is everywhere in the world so we have to have one, too. In the Philippines, where Jollibee fast food chain is #1 because their food is made to suit the filipino palate, there is only one city where Mc Donald's is #1 and that's in Bacolod.
Favorite Dish: Mc Spaghetti! Well, none of you guys have Mc Spaghetti where you're from, right? ;-)
Bob's has been around since the 60's. Remodeled several years ago to house both their pastry shop and the restaurant that serves favorites such as sate babi, barbecued ribs, mongolian barbecue and their yummy burgers.
Favorite Dish: Chicken Sate or Sate Babi with Java rice. Barbecued chicken or pork with a special peanut sauce that has been my favorite as far as I can remember.
Excellent japanese food. Wide open concept restaurant with a sushi bar and misono (japanese grill) tables on the side.
For a party of 5 ordering lots of sushi and other dishes, I've never paid more than $30. Great value and I know that I've never been anywhere in the world where sushi could be this cheap.
Favorite Dish: Oysters, chicken liver teppan, sushi
What everyone is craving for when visiting Bacolod is our famous chicken inasal. Manokan country is THE BEST place to eat. The place isn't first class at all, it has more of a karinderia feel. A karinderia is usually a small store where food is served. In this case, Manokan country is a row of karinderias all specializing the famous inasal. I'd recommend eating at Aida's, theirs is the best.
Favorite Dish: Chicken inasal! What else?
Kuppa is a cozy restaurant located along Hilado street and is a great place to hang out especially with friends. The food is awesome, the coffee is great, the desserts are impeccable and the tea is simply superb. The ambience is nice, you can sit back and relax. Sometimes though, when the restaurant is full, it gets a bit noisy.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish would have to be their pizza, forgive me for forgetting the name, but I will look into it as soon as possible. Their chocolate cake is like heaven especially ala mode upon request. One cut into the cake and steaming hot chocolate would ooze from the center mixing with the ice cream.
I also LOVE their pasta. Try their Arabiatta.
This restaurant is located at the third floor of Robinson's Mall. There is a smoking and non-smoking area. It's cozy, and they have sofas and low wooden tables for those small group gatherings. During the weekdays the place is packed with older men. During Saturdays, the place is packed with teenagers. So just go with your age group!
Favorite Dish: This restaurant has awesome frappes. You get to choose if its coffee-based or cream-based!
Aboy's Restaurant is home to fresh seafoods and local menu which offers a variety of home-cooked food... The restaurant just started as a small eatery and after a decade or so, it became one of Bacolod's best restaurants. They have food already cooked and you can choose from the display. You can also order food from the menu or fresh seafoods which they will cook within a few minutes.
The restaurant is located in Golden Fields which is known as the Night Life of Bacolod. The place is very spacious and relaxing in a "native" touch.
At lunch time, it gets a bit crowded since it is most likely the preferred restaurant for business lunch or family gatherings. They serve dinner as well.
Favorite Dish: fish ceviche, crispy pata, sinigang na isda (fish stew), grilled tuna - fresh and delicious!
Imay's is one of Bacolod's best restaurants. They serve seafoods mostly and other meat dishes. The restaurant is big and spacious with a native touch and usually crowded at night.
We usually have family gatherings here or have party on special occassions. The food serving is kinda small though for the price but they are cooked deliciously and it's all worth it.
Favorite Dish: I like most of their food and to name a few, such are crispy kangkong, baked scallops, grilled blue marlin, kare-kare, watermelon shake! Delicioso!!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Bacolod is L'Sea. They serve delicious chinese food just right for the price. We usually eat here if there are family gatherings. There are seats at the main restaurant and more at the center of the building, just outside the resto. Their service is fast and the crew is very accommodating.
The owner of L'sea is also the owner of the Japanese resto L'Kaisei and the most expensive hotel in Bacolod, L'Fisher.
Favorite Dish: Try their siomai, it's the best in town for me. Soy chicken, mixed vegetables are also good. For the record, try chicken feet! ;) it is cooked in a bit spicy sauce which is perfect for the taste buds.
Pepe's is one of the restaurants in Bacolod which is always full of "hungry stomachs". Their food is really good and the price is quite reasonable for the serving. They serve lunch and dinner, and turns out into a bar at night. Most students hang out here, either to eat or to get drunk. It is located in Sorrento Building which is considered as one of the Night Life Spots in Bacolod.
If you'll go dinner at Pepe's, better come early to have some seats available. If not, there are seats and tables outside of the restaurant, though not as comfy as the ones inside. The resto is always busy, so serving of food gets delayed at times.
Favorite Dish: Beef Salpicao served with rice... really tastes good.
El Ideal is the oldest bakery in Silay City. It is famous for its guapple pie which is its trademark product. Also try their pineapple pie which is heavenly. It is located a block away from the public plaza & is housed in a National Heritage Site. This bakery has been handed down from generation to generation so some recipes were served years ago.
Favorite Dish: I love their pies. Taste heavenly.
Mang Inasal has branches all over the Philippines. You can also find their branches practically anywhere in Bacolod as well as neighboring cities. It's specialty is the famous chicken inasal. An order of rice with chicken barbeque costs P80. Don't forget to try this delectable dish.
Favorite Dish: Chicken barbeque is so tasty.
