Grill Guru: Homey local fusion

by eversure

I think they opened in 2011. Its located in the backyard of a home overlooking the pool. Very cozy. It is owned by a group of friends, one of whom is a chef. I like their appetizers: very witty and clever. Pate and empanaditas are my favourite. The home brewed iced tea is also delicious. The burger is ok and the other main courses are also ok. Nothing great. I go there for the appetizers.

Markim's: Home cooked taste

by eversure

The ambiance is not so great and the place is a bit smallish but its a small price to pay for really good food, home-cooked style. My sister in law loves the chicken wings so much, she stripped the chicken clean to the bones that not even an ant could get something off. The food is definitely value for money. This restaurant has closed as of January 2012

Chicken Deli: Chicken Inasal - Roasted Style

by buenababe

Chicken Deli is one of the many chicken bbq restaurants in Bacolod. Their style of cooking is a bit different from the others - a bit crunchy on the outside, juicy in the inside. The restaurant is a 2-storey place with the aircon and non-aircon area. They also serve other dishes which are really good. Chicken Inasal of course.

Kuppa: The Hang-out

by buenababe

Kuppa is one of the best places in Bacolod to hang out, either to dine, chitchats or have some beer/mixed drinks. The place is located on the quiet part of the City and it is just ideal for meetings or get-togethers. They serve a variety of food - from pasta, meat and seafood dishes. They also have lots of tea and coffee preparations to choose from, and of course, pastries. The salad bar!!! eat all you can for only P180 (almost 5USD)

Chicken House: Chicken Inasal perfected...

by buenababe

We usually eat at Chicken House if we have friends coming over from a different place or if we have family gatherings and we are in the mood for barbecue. Inasal is one of Bacolod's trademarks and Chicken House is one of the best-tasting inasal restaurant in Bacolod. They serve chicken, pork, liver barbecue and some spare ribs. With the Inasal, try having garlic rice and put some chicken oil and dip the chicken in soy sauce+vinegar+calamansi... ohh my, im hungry! pechopak ( breast/wing chicken part)

L'Sea: Dimsum and Noodles House

by buenababe

One of my favorite restaurants in Bacolod is L'Sea. They serve delicious chinese food just right for the price. We usually eat here if there are family gatherings. There are seats at the main restaurant and more at the center of the building, just outside the resto. Their service is fast and the crew is very accommodating. The owner of L'sea is also the owner of the Japanese resto L'Kaisei and the most expensive hotel in Bacolod, L'Fisher. Try their siomai, it's the best in town for me. Soy chicken, mixed vegetables are also good. For the record, try chicken feet! ;) it is cooked in a bit spicy sauce which is perfect for the taste buds.

Pepe's: Superb Food!

by buenababe

Pepe's is one of the restaurants in Bacolod which is always full of "hungry stomachs". Their food is really good and the price is quite reasonable for the serving. They serve lunch and dinner, and turns out into a bar at night. Most students hang out here, either to eat or to get drunk. It is located in Sorrento Building which is considered as one of the Night Life Spots in Bacolod. If you'll go dinner at Pepe's, better come early to have some seats available. If not, there are seats and tables outside of the restaurant, though not as comfy as the ones inside. The resto is always busy, so serving of food gets delayed at times. Beef Salpicao served with rice... really tastes good.

Calea: Finest Desserts!

by buenababe

When it comes to cakes, Calea is the place to be. Their cakes are really good and sought-after by the locals and visitors. They serve variety of cakes to choose from, even coffee and tea! They have the main branch at Lacson St., and a branch in Robinson's Mall and the other one on East Block, near Lopue's and the New Gov't. Center. The shop in Lacson St., is usually full of people at night time, so if you're lucky you can have seats available, but if not, then better do the take-out. ;)It is a good place to hang-out after dinner or to meet some friends to have coffee and cakes while chitchatting. ;) Blueberry cheesecake and chocolate cake - mouth-watering!!!!

Imay's: Food Fest!

by buenababe

Imay's is one of Bacolod's best restaurants. They serve seafoods mostly and other meat dishes. The restaurant is big and spacious with a native touch and usually crowded at night. We usually have family gatherings here or have party on special occassions. The food serving is kinda small though for the price but they are cooked deliciously and it's all worth it. I like most of their food and to name a few, such are crispy kangkong, baked scallops, grilled blue marlin, kare-kare, watermelon shake! Delicioso!!!

Pamilya Grill: tastes like Bob's!

by buenababe

Pamilya Grill is the cheaper version of Bob's. The owner used to work as a cook at Bob's Cafe and Restaurant. She started her small business at her own "backyard" but word spread easily that they serve food which really tastes like Bob's and people started to flock in especially the students at a nearby University. They serve most of Bob's specialty - baby back ribs, sate babe, mongolian bowl and fruit punch. The price is around 50% cheaper than Bob's and it really clicked with the locals that they have transfer to a bigger place that can accommodate more customers. baby back ribs, sate babe - so good at a reasonable price.
