What else can you do when you are in the City of Pines? Well, let me suggest. If you can afford the fee for horseback riding, then do! It is kind of fun for the kids. Of course, it is not fun for me because I wanted the real McCoy! - I wanted to ride a horse that would pump my heart out! The kids love the horses because the horses walk around the circle - kind of safe for little ones, eh? Just look at the picture! My sister and her son just rode on the back of the horse and they can say they went "horseback riding" in Baguio!

In the old days, the Igorot people used to wear their costume even in the city. The men's costume was called the G-string and they wear a headdress adorned with beautiful and colorful feather of birds. The women, on the other hand, wore a skirt woven in beautiful colors - red, blue, and white. They wore necklaces made of snake bones and beautiful expensive beads.
There was this old story that when the richest man in Baguio City went to Manila to buy buses, he was wearing a G-string. He was one proud Igorot. He didn't care what people would say. Most of the salesmen looked at him and totally ignored him. How can this "Igorot man" afford a bus when he can't even afford to buy clothes on!
The Igorot man went to another bus sales company. To everybody's surprise this Igorot man bought several buses and paid in cash! The guy who ignored him didn't realize that this Igorot man was Dangwa! He was once the richest Igorot! (Dangwa is the owner of the Dangwa Transportation in the Mountain Province).

Buy a map then walk from your hotel to your desired destination. This is a bit challenging and fun. But if you have a heart condition or not fit for long walks, I suggest you take the taxi instead. :)

Wright Park is located at the eastern part of the city. Because we are called the ‘Backpackers’ we walked from Botanical Garden to Wright Park. Whew! Wright Park was fronting the main gate of the Mansion, where Pool of Pines will be seen and also the Park Circle.

Of course what else you can see in a botanical gardern --- FLOWERS ƒº ¡K The place was so relaxing because of it. In the entrance gate tourists can usually take pictures with the Igorot tribesmen dressed in their traditional costume it will cost for P10/ shot, but we never did :-D

As part of the Buddhist tradition, the Bell Church is set on a hill with a beautiful landscape. It looks more like a garden with a temple and not the other way around. I've not been there for ages and it is really good to know that they have managed to keep the church clean and clutter free. The Pagoda and other structures look like they have just had a fresh spray of paint. A refreshing treat for those tired souls that have wandered Baguio including myself of course.

Witness the making of the woven materials for which baguio is noted for. The school has introduced an avenue for local women to generate income for themselves and their families. It is also a shop to get your souveneirs.

Drive 16 km to Asin hot springs and take a dip jacusi style or swim in the pools of several resorts in the area one of which is the Palm Grove Resort. Its similar to the nice resorts of Los Banos.
Check out several wood carver shops along the roadside. Their prices are lower than in the city.
