    Orange Colored Motorcycle

by llyrt Written Jan 26, 2007

This local motorcycle is an ingeneous creation of the Filipinos where it is cheap and easy to maintain. If Thailang have its "Toktok", we are our motorized tricycle. It is the predominant mode of transportation to and around the city. We have also has a jeepney ride with its designated routes.
It is a local version of a small bus which can carry 10 to 12 passengers. We have also a motorized trisikad which is a hybrid of a motorized bicycle and the trisicad which is a local 3 wheeled bicycle. If your puzzled enough, you have to witness it to appreciate it...

    Minicab

    by bike_packer Written Nov 10, 2005

The major city routes are plied by this Minicab. It is really mini, persons that are taller than 5'10" would have a hard time ducking down when inside the cab. It can seat 3 in front plus 2rows of 6 persons at the back. Really tight when full.

    Tricycles

    by bike_packer Updated Nov 11, 2005

Tricycles are everywhere in the Philippines but the ones in Butuan looks different from the coventional one. It can seat 6 persons and the front looks like a cab and it hides the motorcycle. Ride them for special short trips on routes not serviced by the jeepneys/minicabs.

Green Taxis - "On Call " only

    by bike_packer Updated Sep 26, 2006

You don't see empty taxis plying the streets of Butuan City. According to one driver, the rarity of taxi passengers made the operator of the taxi fleet decide to have the taxis "Dispatch upon Request". Call up the taxi sation/base operator and they will send one to pick you up anywhere in the city on a pre-negotiated fare prior to dispatching.
