Calle Dos: Platter for Four

by asianbelle

As we were new in the area, we sought recommendations from locals as to where we can get good, local food. The ladies at the spa (where we had our hand/foot spa) directed us to Calle Dos, one of the very few restos open after 9pm. It is a dim-lighted resto-bar that shares the building with a sauna-spa, gym and ktv. Looking at the diners at that time, it looks popular among call center agents. As it turned out, the owner of Calle Dos (and the other businesses within the building) was also the owner of the spa. Hence as gratitude, we were served an extra slice of chocolate cake. We ordered a food platter good for 4-5 pax. It includes mushroom soup, grilled pork, fish fillet, beef salpicao, sauteed mushroom buttons, rice, "turon" ala mode, and one round of soda.I personally like the beef salpicao and turon dessert. The latter was served with macapuno strings.

A: You can take either Baliwag Transit or Genesis, both have bus terminals in Cubao. No idea about the fare, but travel time is 2-2.5 hours.
