the town is "chillaxing" and it makes you appreciate what you have as it gives you a closer view to the simple way of life people residing and "businessing" around. There is only one SM (Ph's super mall) and mostly are small shopping centers that doesn't depict luxury. However, some stuff here are more expensive than the ones you could get from...

  • Ziplining at Mapawa Nature Park

After our adventurous river rafting activity, we still had the afternoon free and so we decided to go zip-lining. Our hired jeepney driver referred us to Mapawa Nature Park because they have 6 courses for zip-lining there compared to the single 120 meters zip-line at Maccahambus Park. Not to mention the rates were much cheaper even though there...

Located near the Girl Scout Headquarters and Marigold Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, this quaint cafe serves great coffee and sandwiches. I was charmed at first sight with P. Joe's Diner. I love vintage, and this place incorporated one of my all-time favorite design themes: an American 50s diner! It's also aviation inspired, as you can gather when you spot the old-fashioned airplane sticking out of building's facade. I was also expecting expensive food prices to match the overall...

Cagayan de Oro Warnings and Dangers

White water rafting is pretty safe even though it can get wild. Just remember the following tips to avoid injury:

    1) Follow the guides instructions in paddling. Unless they say "hard forward", don't overexert yourself. You might need your strength later on for when it really matters.

    2) Never lose your hold on the T-grip, even if you're not paddling. This can easily fly away and knock someone else unconscious or worse, bleeding.

    3) Getting overthrown by the rapids or having your boat flip upside down is part of the fun. But this is unexpected, you might be gulping water, too. Don't panic, just hold your breath and wait for your body to float up. The guides will get you; they know the terrain pretty well.

    4) Float feet first when you get overthrown. This is so you can protect yourself from the rocks, although strong currents will avoid that anyway.

    5) Try paddling simultaneously to achieve balance and stable movement. You can do this by counting.

  • Exotic indeed!

We tried a local fruit in CDO,the Marang, which looks like those rubber balls thatt springs up when pulled by its rubber string. If you like or do not like the Durian, this smells better than the durian. But Durian tastes more heavenly than Marang.Try it,we bought this along the road from Bukidnon.
