Going around Cagayan de Oro City would mean riding the hiring a rent-a-car which you can arrange with your hotel, taxi with more than 80% flag down rate is P40.00, motorela ( tricycle version) which would cost P7.00 only, and jeepney which costs P7.00 to P10.00, depending on how far you are going.

for first timers you can hire taxi cabs in getting to your destinations faster and easier since motorela can only go within certain areas. Thailand has "TukTuks", CDO has "motorela". a motorcycle converted into a mini jeepney, the front seat can accomodate 2 persons and the back can have 4 to 6 persons.....

Lumbia International Airport is the Gateway to Cagayan De Oro City, the Airport ias located in Barangay Lumbia in Cagayan de Oro City. It is a 15 minute drive from downtown Cagayan De Oro. the Airport is really old and small, like a municipal airport and the facilities are wanting since it also doubles as a military airbase. The buildings are small and overcrowded, the baggage carousel (only one) is small and be prepared for a scramble to get near it. Taxis are available and are reasonably priced once you haggle for the price!

necessity

Also Known as Skylab!

Necessity is the Mother of inventions!, due to the poor road conditions in the Visayas and Mindanao and that rides to remote areas are expensive and can easily destroy the chassis of cars and jeeps, the enterprising people here built the sky lab aka "habal habal" a 5 to 7 seater tricyle that is economical and affordable (a short ride costs 15 pesos) in the 1970's and since then has became the mode of transport to remote areas.

Cheaper to Rent A Jeepney to go around!

Jeepneys are a popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They were originally made from US military jeeps left over from World War II and are well known for their flamboyant decoration and crowded seating. They have also become a symbol of Philippine culture. Although the original jeepneys were simply refurbished military jeeps (Willys), modern jeepneys are now produced by independently owned workshops and factories within the Philippines. There is a Jeepney ethic that tourists take a little time to fully grasp: if it is possible to get another person into the back of the Jeepney, the passengers are obligated to squeeze together a little tighter and try and create a place for someone who wants on.

Fares start at 9.00 Pesos for the first 4 kilometers and 1.50 pesos every kilometer thereafter.

available everywhere!

also available for 1 day rent at 3,500 pesos a day.

Philippine Airlines was founded on February 26, 1941, making it Asia's oldest carrier still operating under its current name. The airline was started by a group of businessmen led by Andres Soriano, hailed as one of the Philippines' leading industrialists at the time, who served as the General Manager, and former Senator Ramon Fernandez as Chairman and President. Government investment in September of the same year paved the way for its nationalization. Its main hub is at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the city of ParaƱaque with all its passenger flights involving Manila in Centennial Terminal 2.

Transpo to Mapawa

If you're going to Mapawa Nature Park, you will need to 'rent' a taxi to go there. The rate we got is P400 one way. You can also ask them to pick you up for the same price. It's good to use this instead of the jeepney because of all the dust.

Taxi from the airport

Make sure you get a taxi that uses the meter. The ones parked there will ask you for 300-350 for a taxi ride to the city. Meter should only cost you 150-180. You can also ask the help of the policemen there so you don't get overcharged.
