Palacio Lines' M/V Calbayog sails three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) at 7.00pm from Cebu City's Pier 1 to Calbayog, returning the following day. The trip takes about 12 hours.
In Cebu City, they have a counter at Pier 1 but you can only make reservations there. To buy a ticket you have to go to their office at corner Mabini & Zulueta Street; Downtown, at the Heritage Of Cebu monument (it reads "FJP Lines" = F. J. Palacio).
The one-way, non-aircon "open air"-class ticket is currently 595 P, aircon about 200 P more. Included is breakfast which consisted in my case of rice, glass noodles and a boiled egg. It's availible at the "Hot Staff Café" which opens til 11pm and has surprisingly good food (and beer) on offer.

Watch out if you arrive by boat from Cebu. tricycle riders will rush up to you and try to tempt you into getting on their machine and may try to carry your bags for you. Keep a tight hold of your bags and dont accept the first price they offer you for the trip. If you are white they will try to charge you way above normal. its not far from the pier into the city, it shouldnt cost more than 15-20 pesos per person. I stayed in the san joaquin inn on one of my visits. I had a few ants and a couple of mice in my room, but thats my own fault for eating food there and especially sweet fizzy drinks attract ants. Basically it was fairly priced and not bad at all. I paid 600 a day in dec. 2005. It's closely situated to Jollybee and the market so i was able to walk to get breakfast and buy cheap fruit to eat later. I never felt Calbayog was particularly dangerous. I did walk alone on a few occasions at night without any problem, but i was careful where i walked. Theres not a lot to see in Calbayog though and no-one has grasped the idea of making souvenirs for tourists either. Virtually all travel in the city is pedicycle and when i was there it was 7 peso each for a journey within the city. You should be able to hire a tricycle and go to a nice beach about 30 minutes away, as the beaches near the city are not up to much. Having been there 2 times i cant really think of any reason to recommend going there. Also beware going into the hills to view waterfalls, as i was told by locals that there are NPA members waiting there, who are likely to either rob you or kidnap you for political gain. The boat trip from calbayog to Cebu is 12 hours from about 7pm until 7 am. It goes to cebu on tuesday, thurs and saturday and returns to calbayog on Mon,Wed, Friday. tickets are from Palacio shipping at the pier area in calbayog, and in Cebu at the corner of Mabini and Zulueta str. Tickets were around 550 pesos each in 2006 when i last visited.

from Allen to Calbayog city ,Its almost 60km ,2hours travel by jeep ,price is 70peso one person.

we left Allen PM5:00 its last trip to calbayog city

but its very dangerous way ,especially this time

Jeepney driver was hold up one day before we trip, way to Calbayog city.

and other passengers were almost hold up and took all money by man

driver said snatcher had said he would kill you if u did not pass me all money .

so he passed all money to snather

he was very pity he lost all money he had

but snatcher has gun here

then his life is most important then

And way to Calbayog is almost dangerous in other reason

the way to calbayog city ,Its very dark night time

no light is attached with road and road is paved but very bad condition

if you used this route in night time ,something bad may happen to you

best way to come calbayog city from manila is definitely airplane.

if its expensive ,other way is to use ferry or plane from manila to cebu

and change ferry to calbayog city

but you must be careful in calbayog city also
