Eastwood City is one of the coolest spots in Manila right now. It's a group of bars, restaurants, coffee places and fine dining all in one place.
Definite must-trys : Something Fishy which serves the best-tasting sisig I have eaten. Another is Twist by Minggoy's for the heavenly paella.
Dress Code: Come as cool as you are.

Located at the southeastern corner of Quezon City, Bagumbayan is one of the newly developed commercial areas in Quezon City. The Eastwood City Business Center is situated here. It consists of several office and residential skyscrapers, including many local IT and consumer electronic firms. Numerous bars and restaurants have been put up since 2000 along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue (C-5). Many of which are open-air restaurants and coffee shops reminiscent of Paris boulevards, but with a modern architecture. With this, Libis is fast becoming one of the hippest areas for night entertainment, similar to the Malate and Ermita districts of Manila

Eastwood City is one of the spot where nights never die young. Since the establishments around here caters call center agents and the people living on the condominiums, this "park" has already become of the "sosyalistas tambayan" (elite hangouts"). There are a lot of coffee shops, clubs and shops. If your on budget, you can just sit around and watch people passing by.
Dress Code: Some clubs requires men to wear shoes but if your just strolling around, any decent attire will do.

Gweilos is another place to catch great live rock acts, since the clubbing scene gets tiring after a while, and there are just too many damn good Pinoy musicians! The venue consists of three floors: the first being the bar, which opens out to al fresco drinking. A huge projector screen regularly shows athletic events or rock concert DVDs.
The second floor is where the action happens: some of the loudest bands grace the Gweilos stage on some events such as the Dredd night, a tribute to Club Dredd, one of the first and most legendary rock institutions in the 80s to mid 90s. On the last floor is the VIP lounge where guests can rent out the room for private parties. The view from the balcony is nice - plus they have the best roast beef cooked right in front of you!
Dress Code: As it is a rock club, come as you are. Jeans, Chuck Taylor sneakers and emo-kid shirts a must. Also a lot of yuppies tend to hang out in this bar after work so they're probably in collared shirts and slacks. Pretty mixed crowd.

Eastwood City is an area full of somewhat upscale restaurants and bars located in Libis in Quezon City, about a 20 minute taxi ride from Makati in good traffic. Main route to get there is EDSA Ave although when traffic gets extremely bad in the late afternoons/early evenings, your cabbie may make a right turn on almost any street along the way and take the back roads. Don't think he's taking you for a whirlwind ride... most cabbies (although they're used to it) don't like sitting in traffic also.
Once you're in Eastwood City, it's very tempting to sample the various posh and elegant eating spots and bars. Environment is very westernized, upscale and upbeat. Almost everywhere you walk, you will hear music blasting from a bar somewhere. There is also a center stage in the middle of the rotunda where various bands perform for the weekend crowd. You can walk all of Eastwood City under a half an hour... and there's even a newly built indoor mini mall located right at the very end. But before you get there, lined up outside are stalls selling anything from jewelry to shoes. It's not a market, mind you... the stalls are akin to those you find in most indoor malls.
Depending on your taste for food, your night can get quite expensive, especially if you drink it up with your buddies.
It's worth the trip up there, especially if you want to take a stroll with your loved one amidst the hoopla around you. Dress up... everyone else is.

This is one of the dopest places in Manila. Everything about Eastwood screams North America but with that certain Filipino touch. On Saturdays, you may be tempted to go inside the Basement... which is fine and dandy... but be prepared to rub up against what seems like a million other people in a place the size of your closet. The music is cool but it gets way too packed. Blue Onion would be a good choice. If you just wanna chill out, find a seat at one of the many tables and just chat with some friends... old and new.
Dress Code: Dress nice, no slippers, shorts, tank tops.

It was a neutral choice...a 10-min drive from me and a 5-min drive from him.
Eastwood has a lot of restaurants with outdoor tables if you want to enjoy the summer weather we have most of the year. For this particular night, we ended up in Macau, a chinese restaurant but hey...why did they have curry??? (Next time, bulogoy, I'm ordering ;p) then for "yummy" slammers, on to Cable Car.

Capital City of the Philippines

Manila is underrated as a tourist destination. It has fun places to go to. And plenty of history and art also. This is a picture of Intramuros at night.
