Luggage and bags: Suitcase! Or, if you want to be like some seasoned filipino travellers, take a carry-on and pack a U-haul box that some people jokingly call the filipinos' disposable samsonite ;-)

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you're spending most of your time in the city, bring smart-casual lightweight clothes. Like most metropolitan cities, Manila is fashion-conscious. Pack a bathing suit and some shorts. You'll never know when you might need it. It's always possible you'll have time to laze around the hotel pool or end up in one of our 7,107 islands for a tan.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Insect repellant! You'll find this in the local drugstores or supermarkets but you're better off with it just in case. I've seen many a poor tourist with white skin and a few too many mosquito bites.

Luggage and bags: Any luggage is ok, but it's better one that can have a lock on it.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Any light clothes, t-shirt, short pants, sandals, light shoes because it's very hot there and humid so you won't be able to wear warm clothes or too long clothes. I couldn't. A rain coat is ok too in case it's the rainy season.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Anymedical supplies that you might need, but be carefull to have the doctors receipt with you. You might run into trouble at the airport if you don't have it and you bring anything that they might consider drugs. Be carefull in Philippines is death penalty for drug dealers.. and too many years imprisonement even for a cigarette of marihuana. so say no to drugs!

Photo Equipment: Anytype is ok.It;s up to you and your money. :)

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Pack light. If you end up needing extra clothing, it is so cheap to get stuff in the city.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You may want to pack bug spray, sunblock lotions and minor first aid kit especially if you intend to travel outside Manila/Quezon City.

Miscellaneous: Inexperienced travelers take note:

Always carry your essential documents -- passports, money, credit cards, and air tickets -- on your person. Under no circumstances should you pack them, whether in your hand luggage or your checked bag. To do so invites disaster.

Miscellaneous: hi there,

if you get anything pinched, stolen, nabbed, pilfered, while on holidays, it will make it sooooo much easier when you present yourself at your embassy!

Miscellaneous: Remember to bring a power converter. Most of the Philippines is running 210-220v electricity. Or you can purchase them there at any electrical store or at SM.

Miscellaneous: The smog in Manila is quite bad... so bring a hankerchief or sometype of cloth to help you cover your nose. I mean, its really bad!

Mosquite nets and repellant are important too.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: It is very warm but be cautious that you wear decent casual attire as this is a Catholic country.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You will need bug spray.

Manila is underrated as a tourist destination. It has fun places to go to. And plenty of history and art also. This is a picture of Intramuros at night.
