Part Two of my Fire Place Steakhouse tips with more pictures.

the Fire Place steakhouse of Hyatt Manila and Casino Hotel is one of the more popular luxe steakhouses in the Philippines. it is voted among the top 5 steakhouses of the Philippines by Philippine Tatler with princely prices to Boot! The Ambiance is Very European with large oak tables and chairs and lots of Chilled European wines inside the comfy dining area with a mini staircase to a mini second floor full of Bottled Wines for regular patrons with bottle service. The Star attraction of the place besides the premium steaks is the large Wood Oven Fireplace made by Beechwood Ovens of Australia and with Beechwood also imported to fire the big oven. The place is the most expensive restaurant of the Hyatt Manila and has the most expensive Price for a Steakhouse in Manila with an average of $ 200 per person if you will splurge on their premier Grade 9 Snake River Farms 10 ounce Rib Eye or Grade 8 Australian Rib Eye 10 ounce Wagyu Steak and with wine pairings and sides and soup and salad.

Favorite Dish: The Grade 9 US Snake River Farms 10 ounce Wagyu Rib Eye done Medium Rare at 4,100 pesos an order (no soup or salad or sides or dessert included in the order, you order them separately) and the Australian Grade 8 Tajima Rib Eye Wagyu Steak at 4,200 pesos an order (same as above, no other extras included). they also offer cheaper cuts of steak like the Certified Angus beef like Porterhouse 25 ounce at 3,800 pesos an order or Rib Eye 12 ounces at 2,400 pesos an order and local Bukidnon Philippine Wagyu Rib Eye Steak at 10 ounces at 1,500 pesos an order. they also have a limited selection of main courses like tiger prawns or cod fish to complement their steak line. They also have cheaper set meals from set A to D with assorted cuts of steak plus bread and salad and sidings and dessert for cheaper alternative rand prices are 2,400 pesos for set A, 3,200 pesos for Set B, 3,600 Pesos for Set C and 4,800 pesos for set D.

Located in Ermita at 1335 Mabini Street, Malate, Manila. Is is next to City State Hotel where I was staying. Hard to find it is inside a historic building called Casa Tesoro. You have to walk inside the lobby where you can find the best antiques on display, climb up a steps to your left, there is this door that will lead you inside. It is a nice cozy restaurant that offers Yakitori style food grilled right in the counter. You can also order European food such as french fries, sausages, and deep fried calamari is the one I love the best. It is a relaxing place to be where you can have a quiet drinks and watch live telecast of your favorate sport. Music is perfect for easy listening, staff are friendly and seems to be very popular for European tourists. I will recommend it for a romantic dinner or drinks. Food and drinks is cheap. Apparently the place is newly opened. While I was there guests are watching Rugby League a popular sport in Australia and New Zealand.

Favorite Dish: Deep Fried Calamari cooked to perfection soft and moist in the inside served with mayonaise and or hundred island dressing for only 150 pesos.

Hobbit House: Hobbit House

Ok, this was originally a tip I had from a travel magazine I had which turned out to be a great stop. First of all, most of the wait staff and bartenders are "dwarfs, midgets or little people"? I don't know the politically correct term so I am going to leave that alone. However that seems to be part of the gimic to get you in the door.
The best part I felt was the live music. Filipinos are known worldwide for their ability to mimic famous Western singers. The entertainment at the Hobbit House is some of the best I have ever heard.

Favorite Dish: I had a burger and a beer. The food was good, but the entertainment was awesome.

Almost similar to Estero de Binondo. Ingredients are displayed in full view in the dining area where customers can choose which food they want and what type of cooking. Then, the cooks inside the kitchen can also be seen on how the food are being prepared.

Though the price of food is least expensive, I noted however that the price of their rice (P25 per cup) and drinks are now a little bit pricey (P40 per can of soda).

Favorite Dish: Sipa - fried meat spring roll (lumpia) but moulded differently.
Crispy Spicy Shrimp
Stuffed Squid.

low key and friendly

The establishment has a fin de siecle (19. Century) Manilenyo atmosphere with attentive but not intrusive service. It is a favorite place for merienda (late afternoon snacks or collation) and very, very late night noshing. The fare reflects the best of Ibero-Filipino cuisine, including QUESONG PUTI at PAN DE SAL (white cheese made from water buffalo milk with small crispy rolls).

Favorite Dish: LENGUA MECHADO - beef tongue in a slightly tart sauce with garni of green olives, small onions, and mushrooms.

Excellent service and delicious local food within a cosy home-setting in the heart of Malate.

The menu has helpful descriptions of the local fare available. However if you are unsure of which dishes to order (or are tempted to order all of it), the friendly waiters are more than happy to recommend the restaurant's signature dishes.

Favorite Dish: One of the most interesting dishes I tried is the "Laing" - which is a creamy vegetable dish cooked with coconut milk - and the beef ribs are absolutely delishhhh...

Manila is underrated as a tourist destination. It has fun places to go to. And plenty of history and art also. This is a picture of Intramuros at night.
