The front view of greenbelt II by we2364 Even the whole country is in decline trend of economy, nothing can stop them building up the best shopping mall and the local people is just fascinating about shopping everyday. I thought people in Shanghai is crazy about shopping. Comparing to Philippinos, we are much behind. Greenbelt is combined with 3 large malls called as Greenbelt I, II and III. In this department store, you can find everything.

R for Reggie... it actually says GREENBELT by wreckloose Ok... so I've been to the two largest malls in the world, West Edmonton Mall and the Mall of America (in Edmonton and Minnesota respectively). While these malls were nice, there is no mall in the world that I've been to that could hold a candle to the Greenbelt/Glorietta complex. Half indoor, half outdoor this place was just amazing. I don't even really know how to describe it... Go to Makati, it's on Ayala. See for yourself and if it's not as nice as I said it was, you have my permission to send me a virus.
Whatever you want... it's a mall.
It's not cheap... well... compared to the other places in the Philippines it's not, but if you're foreign and you have a good exchange rate on your currency, you'll probably find something here at a cheaper price than you would find it at home. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Its on Ayala... all cab drivers will know this. If you're coming by LRT, get off at Gil Puyat and grab a taxi.

168 Mall is in the heart of Divisoria in old Manila. While difficult to get to, all my relatives from out of town insist that I bring them there whenever they visit the country. Why? Because for a hundred dollars, they end up laden with bags and bags full of shopping finds. Shopping in Manila is generally cheap given the state of the economy and the peso exchange rate vis-a-vis the US dollar...and it doesn't get any cheaper than this! The mall is supposedly 25,000 sq. m. in area (it seems much larger to my tired feet). It has two buildings which are interconnected and equipped with escalators . The various Sections are conveniently labeled "pasilyos" and numbered so you don't have to worry about getting lost. At the 3rd floor of Mall 1, there is also food court offering a varied menu from more than 20 food establishments - try the one called "Mitzi's" for really good (and cheap) chinese food.
Mostly ladies garments, bags, shoes and small gifts. And for those interested in "gucci-compatibles" or other knock-offs, pirated videos and the like, it's a veritable treasure trove.
Like I said, a hundred dollars goes a long, looong way. $ 3.00 for a blouse, $5.00 for a cute pair of ballet flats. Remember: always, always bargain! Everything is at least 30% off the first price they quote you. And if you buy "wholesale" - meaning 3 or more of the same item - they'll give you a bigger discount. Like Hong Kong, the Philippines has a very healthy clothing manufacturing industry as well. Local brands dominated the market, such as BENCH, PENSHOPPE, HUMAN* just to name 3. While in the Philippines, why not try updating your wardrobe? There are always sales going on, you might just steal a bargain!
These chains sell everything...and not just men's clothings. Tops, Bottoms, Belts, Socks, Underwear, Umbrellas, Cups etc etc
Pretty reasonable and more, during a sale! Leave a Comment

Happy Feet sandals by joysweet This wooden sandals is a good souvenir from the Philippines. Comes in various designs, including a heeled version (especially designed by Hindy Weber) and a soft sole version.
Cheapest shoes (Regina model) is about P800. More expensive are those designer shoes and painted sandals

by KookieDough Tiendesitas is a shopping complex of clothes and shoes, pets and pet supplies, food, plants, arts and antiques, and more. It is so convenient to shop here because the shops are grouped into "villages" that are categorized according to what they sell - like the pet village, arts and antiques village, etc. Shops are open from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
Arts and antiques here are good finds. Instead of scouting around in the provinces of the Philippines or the rest of Asia, you can discover a lot of treasures here at really reasonable prices.
Prices are reasonable and generally lower than the malls'. You can also negotiate for lower prices than those in the price tags. Just to give you examples of the prices of the antiques, my husband and I bought a simple altar table here for 4,500PHP, a nice Narra chest with mother of pearl inlay for 6,000PHP and a wood and capiz 3-panel divider for 7,500PHP. Pearls I used to make cord is from Wellmason by monina_c If you love making accesories out of beads and pearls and such, you will love Wellmanson's! They have a wide variety of beads, crystals and components for making costume jewelries and other such accesories. The clerks are helpful and knowledgeable about their stocks and the store is air-conditioned. Since Wellmanson's has the biggest stock in Quiapo, be prepared to be crushed. A lot of hobbyists make it their stop.
I went ga-ga over their stock! I didn't know which to get first, that I ended up getting a lot of different sized pearls, crystals, spacers, charms, etc. The list is truly long! If you are planning to go into the business of making and selling costume jewelries, this shop is a good source of supplies.
We spent more than we bargained for because I got crazy and bought even items not on my list. But comparing to the stores in the malls, Wellmanson's prices are a bargain! Theme: JewelryAddress: Villalobos St., Quiapo, ManilaDirections: Villalobos St. is directly opposite the Plaza Miranda in front of Quiapo Church. Wellmanson's is easy to find because their signage can be seen from the end of the street. It is next to Tambunting Pawnshop. :D

Located at the center of Metro Manila and in one big roof, Farmer's Market is where locals buy the ingredients when special foods are to be prepared. The place got the freshest catch from the sea. Vegetables (name it, they have it) are a plenty. A long stretch of stalls sells local tropical fruits - fresh and ripe and ready-to-eat. If you want the things you bought to be cooked and have your meal right-away, there's a dozen restaurants at the Dampa Section to cook them for a minimal fee. The real come-on is the variety of choices and knowing you are getting the freshest goods available in town.
1. Fresh Seafoods -- fish, shells/oysters, edible seaweeds, crabs, shrimps. 2. Tropical Fruits -- Mangoes, pineapple, banana, papaya, seasonal fruits. 3. Fresh Vegetables -- upland and lowland (local vegetables) 4. Meat - pork, beef, and even goat meat. 5. Local delicacies --- kakanin, puto, suman, etc. 6. Flowers -- incidentally, they got a big section for fresh flowers.
Pay a little bit higher than the regular neighborhood public market. Actually, you are paying for the better quality of goods sold. But definitely pay much lower compared to supermarkets. Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon CityDirections: Accessible via MRT. Along EDSA with wide parking area available. Ask any local resident - they know this place.
