Airport Duty Free cigarettes are $21 U.S per carton at Manila Airport compared to $51 au per carton at Sydney Airport.Beware that they ONLY accept $U.S at Manila Airport for cigarettes in the large duty free shop but there are two smaller shops which take peso's and are cheaper around $15 au. The best and the original hopia ube (sweet yam) in the Philippines (and in the whole world) is in Eng Bee Tin in Ongpin. The owner of the store said in a TV interview that they really did a research on the best ube halaya recipe that will indeed taste great as hopia. The owner does not offer franchise for their store nor for any of their products; so that means there is just a handful of branches that they have. The breads are always fresh as everything is bought on the same day that they are baked. You will notice that every customer who comes buys not a just a handful, but bags and bags of them (especially balikbayans). I hear that they are now exporting to the US and other countries.
hopia ube, and all other flavors, tikoy, breads, etc. Theme: Food and Drink

Something between a mall, a covered market, and a souk! You can find everything from electronics to clothes, through jewelery, CD, DVDs, local craft, ... Not too sure how legal this place is. From outside it looks like a regular mall with parking, guards,... but our local driver mentionned that if everything here is so cheap, this is simply because there is no tax to pay...
You can find all kind of DVDs, VCDs, CDs...
Always negotiate!! One of these latest DVDs can be sold as low as 80 pesos (1€=60 pesos)... Leave a Comment Theme: Discount Store

The Greenhills mall gives the shopper to travel the world of High Fashion Jewellery, clothing and handbags at a fraction of the cost. All the name brand stuff are knock-offs but the quality is pretty good. Don't go to the Main Prominade mall, walk across the street to the Booth mall.
Pearls, they are real and they are Cheap. If you like to haggle, you can get amazing prices. DON'T be rude, your name (face) will travel faster than lightning, if you treat them with no respect.
A 16 inch string of green pearls are $13 Euro ($20 US). Two strings will be made into a necklace, a pair of earings, and a bracelet for about $30 Euro ($50 US). Kultura is one of the mall based store where you can buy local crafts at a reasonable price. They have capiz made items, abaca weaving and even barong tagalog. Their outlets (the ones that I know) are located in SM Mall of Asia (near coastal), SM Ayala (Makati) and SM Mega Mall (in ortigas)
Tabacco, T-shirts, ethnic souvenir items, yummy goodies (sweets and other native delicacies)
