LA Cafe: Like a club or bar, but better than both

by FredinYourHead

LA Café’s not quite a club and not quite a girlie bar. In some ways, it’s the best of both. I’ve been there twice. First time, just to kill time for a half hour downstairs in the bar on a Thursday afternoon. There were probably about 75 girls in there, just hanging out. They’re a little older – late 20s to maybe 40. One of them introduced herself and we had a “no bola-bola” (no bs) talk. Basically, all the girls are free agents. There are no barfines, no cover and you don’t even have to buy the girl a drink. So, the next time I went in there, I went upstairs to where you do have to pay a cover for a pretty good band. I listened to them for a while, watching this large-breasted (for a Filipina) 35 yo shaking her thing on the dance floor. She told me her hobby was to make long, slow love. Sounds good, right? And it was going good until I saw this little stunner on my way to the CR. I...

Blue Room: Blue Room

by kemisteryoso

We always drink here with my High school friends. The place is a bit small but can accommodate around 7 groups. They have cozy couch inside. There are also high chairs and tables outside. Their promo here is Buy 1 beer and take another 1.No band playing so this place is also a good place for a lengthy conversation. Casual

Kwago's Grill: Kwago's Grill

by kemisteryoso

What I like about this place is being not crowded and well ventilated. Their red horse beer is very cheap which is 3 bottles for P100.00. Not too noisy so you can hear each other very well. A band plays mellow music every night, you can also sing with them if you have the guts. The grill is open 24 hours so you won't be in a hurry. Casual

M/V Spirit of Manila: Manila Bay Dining Cruises

by cyndymc

Onboard the M/V Spirit of Manila, you will have an unforgetable Manila Bay Cruise. After a full course gourmet meal (appetizer, soup, main course, dessert), live entertainment will immediately follow, opening the floor for al fresco dancing. If you don't feel like dancing, you can just stay on the deck, feel the sea breeze and view the magnificent lights of the cityscape and its reflection on Manila Bay. If you're at the bay between 7:00-7:30pm, you'll be in for a different experience, being in the midst of the fireworks display of nearby SM Mall of Asia. All these, for only P495/pax.Don't feel like having dinner while on cruise? You may still avail of the Manila Bay Cruise without taking dinner for only P250/pax. Smart Casual

Baywalk: Simple Joys at the Breakwater & Baywalk

by cyndymc

Although the present local government removed the business establishments in Baywalk, many people still go there for a stroll with loved ones, sit on the grass for an evening picnic, take some souvenir shots, and relax by simply sitting on the breakwater to watch the awesome view of Manila sunset. If you're lucky, you'll even see the fireworks display of nearby SM Mall of ASIA in Pasay City. They hold it every Friday evening at 7:30pm and on special holidays, same time. Come as you are; no dress code

Wow Philippines Clamshell Vicinity: Electronic Floats Parade & Fireworks

by cyndymc

Ever since the Regional Exhibits at the Wow Philippines/DOT Clamshell was resumed, there are electronic floats parade held at 5:30pm and fireworks displayed very night at 7:30 pm. The floats depict local scenes. My pictures were taken in the afternoon while the floats were parked, but they look more fantastic at night when lit up. Come as you are; no dress code since you'll watch from the streets

Nightlife on the harbour

by Jim_Eliason

When the sun goes down, numerous outdoor clubs open on Roxas Boulevard at the harbour side. Every night of the week, 8-10 bands are playing with no cover charge. It's a fantastic and cheap way to spend an evening listening to some great live music.
