davao fruits

by olitrac

if you really are a fruit lover, the best time to come to davao is during the months of august, semptember to the early weeks of october. selling price of durian, rambutan, lanzones, marang and mangosteen will drop sharply because of its peak season. sad to say pomelos don't. but their prices is still managable at around 80 pesos a kilo. imagine mangosteen will drom from 120 pesos a kilo to 30 pesos a kilo.

Durian and Marang

by Brycekenshin

If you like to bring Durian or Marang to your hotel i guess you'd be fine if you were staying in The Waterfront because they allowed us to bring durian in our room and they also allowed us to store crates and boxes of pomelo, durian and marang right at the lobby. But i wouldn't bet on that cause maybe we were just lucky to have a corporate account. :) I really can't define any specifics cause i was there to work and didn't really had the luxury of maximizing my stay but to be honest I really had a great time in Davao and I really wished I could have stayed more but unfortunately I can't because we still had Cagayan De Oro and Cebu on our sched. I'm sorry if I can't really give very useful tips coz you can't be to picky on details when you're just having fun and working at the same time. :)

Plus the fact that these fruits are grown only in this part of the Philippines.Aside from the way it looks....covered with spikes all over, the pungent smell is the most recognizable trait of this fruit. You can smell it a few meters away, and if the person next to you ate it a few hours ago, once he burps, you'll definitely know he had it, hahaha. But it is one of the most popular among Philippine fruits..it's soft, white , strongly flavored meat, is one that you just can't have enough of. Hmm, and it is believed to be an aphrodisiac as well. Maybe this is true, you feel really warm/hot after eating this fruit ;-)If you can't manage to eat the fruit ( like me), there are Durian...

White Beaches and Blue Waters

If a friend had never been to Davao City I would definitely take them to Pearl Farm. I consider it as one of the highlights of a Davao visit. It is worth the 45 min. boat ride. One of the things I miss the most when I'm away from Davao City is the durian coffee.
