davao citizens as you can imagine are deciplined, the line that separates between the performers and the one's watching them is the yellow line which is used as jeepny stops for loading and unloading. photo taken during the indak indak sa kadalanan (street dance) but during the floral parade on the following day, the parade was ruined and it all break loose because of some celebrities from manila who joined the parade. the people wants to go near them. worse, they throw some candies and other stuffs. even one security officer (who is forbidden to watch the parade and has to concentrate on his area of responsibility.) exitedly ask me "kinsa na? kinsa na?" i said si zha zha padilla. he responded and said bata paman diay sya noh. tsk tsk tsk! i wonder? why did the organizers have them joined when in fact kadayawan is a festival of thanks for a bountiful harvest.

CLAP TWICE TO GET WAITER'S ATTENTION

We went to Penong's Grill (#1 grill resto in Davao) for lunch and there' a sign that says "clap twice to get waiter's attention." My companion proved that it works. :) I'm not sure if it's being done in other restaurants, too. The safest way is to always observe the locals first. :)

CURFEW - 2AM

Bars and discos in Davao close at 2AM. This is a city-wide imposed curfew. So if you're planning a night out, make sure you start early enough so when 2AM comes, you've already had enough. :)
