Blue Gre: Durian Overload

by monina_c

This is my favorite place to have after dinner coffee in Davao. My Davaoeno friends tell me that there are a lot of other cafes we can try but I always prefer the hot durian flavored coffee here. They also serve good durian cheesecake and banana cream pie.BTW, there is a Blue Gre outlet in SM City Davao. Casual. Denims and shirts are okay.

Matina Town Square: It's not just Square

by tsokoholic

It's a fun place. There are restaurants, bars & a coffee shop. There's a local band playing in the middle of the compound. For those who just want to "Hold hands while walking" there is a garden with benches. For families, there is also a playground for kids. This is where you can find the yummy Aling Foping's Halo-halo.

Damosa Gateway: Unwind in Davao

by julia_r

We came Friday night and the place is filled with yuppies. Other restos/bar has some oldies though. There's a trio playing and singing on the stage they have put up in the portion of the parking area. The photo is taken from our room in the hotel. Come as you are... sexy, carefree, hiphop, casual, relax and unwind.

Jack's Ridge: A night of food, music, and view

by aerialview

A friend told me that this is one of Davao's secrets. I couldn't blame the locals if they want to keep it for themselves. Generally a quiet place to hang-out and enjoy the cityscape at night. It also has bars with good music and restaurants with great food.Still nothing beats the atmosphere. While this place has its share of visitors, the park still allows you to lie down on the grass and have a covenant with the moon.

Torres and Rizal Sts.: Want a Street of Nightlife?

by Igniz

Nightlife in Davao is as lively as a casino. But these 2 streets deserves a great description of nightlife.Rizal Street- Well known for foreign and local restaurants which opens at night. The Road is usually closed for some live music. I recommend to dine at Iron Horse. Your 95 Pesos is enough to fill your hungry tummy!Torres Street- Long before, it was just nothing. But as the restaurants flocking to it's new location, no wonder if this street will be called "Street of Nightlife" because of it's fine dining restaurants that are open until midnight. Whenever you pass by this street, several restaurant names are brightly shown. Just Be Casual, no slippers pls.

Marrakesh Bar: A touch of something exotic!

by maple_air

Colorful drapes...mat on the floor....cushions and pillows....you'd think you're inside a bar in Morroco...but nope, you're in Davao's Marrakesh Bar.Nothing could be more comfortable than taking your stiletto's off, sit on soft cushions, cross your legs and drink the night away.Once again, another small, cozy bar. None of that crazy crowd malachi, unless it's your very own set of friends! We had a very good night here. Relaxed, just talking, laughing, listening to the music. Anything comfortable. No dress code

Hazel's Coffeehouse and Piano Bar: Small chill out bar

by maple_air

This small coffeehouse during daytime turns into a piano bar in the evening. If you don't like noisy, rowdy crowds, then this is one place where you can go to. The music is not loud enough for you not to hear what your companion is saying. And if you like, you can have a go at singing your favorite songs. They have a wide range of both alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks. Plus you can order some food, if you get hungry.I love their Jasmine Tea, and they have a variety of cakes and ice creams to choose from. No dress requirements at all. Wear anything comfortable.

U-Turn Music Bar: Raw Live Bands

by bike_packer

Being a stranger to the place, we flagged down a taxi and told the driver to help us look for a music bar where local bands play. Most of the known places he showed us, bands played Top40 music not our type. after some more searching we passed by this row of bars and the inside of U-Turn Bar was visible from the street. Well, this is the place. The band played some punk and rock music. I recognized one from the 80's group Blondie. ("One way or another, I gonnna gonna get you one way or another.......") The crowd is generally college students and so with the band members, it seems. Raw music - the sound of wannabe bands but I'm sure they are having fun. Been there.3 bottles of RedHorse Beer (the favorite here, I noticed) would be enough to top your night. Jeans and casual tops.

Their open area has several stalls where you can order different items. Just be courteous enough to order at the stall nearest your table! They have nightly shows, and cultural presentation every Tue/Thur night Casual
