White Water Rafting

by arhia2003

If you're going to the Crocodile Park in Davao, check out their white water rafting as well... it's a great adventure! racing through the rapids is an exhilirating rides, especially when you experience your raft to capsize and everybody swimming like mad, while laughing at the same time towards the shore. Fortunately for us, we went rafting a day after it was raining really hard in Davao, so the otherwise dry falls along the Davao River was in all its glory. The raft can accomodate up to 8 people, including the steersman, and the price for each person is about $20, an additional $20 for the group is optional if you want your pictures and video taken during the trip (you can hardly do the photographing yourself). There would be two kayak guides that will be guiding you during the ride to ensure additional safety. The $20 already includes the gear, a packed lunch and the transportation to...

Japanese Tunnel

by mimay

It was a real tunnel used by the japanese during the war, the lot owner discovered it when they were supposed to have a construction in the area, after discovering it they decided to restore it and open to the public with P10 entrance fee. They even found paper bills inside the tunnel which was used during that time.

Eat Durian!

by tsokoholic

Davao is where you'll find the best Durian. The local variety (more pungent and a bit bitter) and the Thai variety (less punget & sweeter) both abound here. harvest season is usually August-November. Durian is said to be an aphrodisiac! It is widely believed that if you wash your hands & drink water from the shell of the durian, the smell will be reduced considerably.Be sure not to eat durian and drink beer or alcohol at the same time. It could be fatal. Durian is best with just plain water.

Go to Pearl Farm Beach Resort!

by travelfreak101

Pearl Farm Beach resort is the BEST beach in Davao.. (though by far not comparable to Boracay!). The sand is white, albeit with lots of small stones and broken glass and shells.. Definitely not smooth.. So if you want to go wading on the shores, bring aqua shoes or something similar unless you want your feet to hurt! There are lots of water activities you can join here although it is more expensive than normal. Kayak/Pedal Boat rental is Php440/hr, snorkeling is Php330/day/set. Jetski's are Php3850/hr. In Boracay it is just Php2000/hr and the sand is ULTRA fine. We stayed at the Samal Suite. It is a 2 floor house near the beachfront and costs Php6000/person/night. The locks on the doors are loose so it takes a certain technique to lock and unlock the doors which is very frustrating if you're in a hurry. Sometimes the shower on the first floor doesn't have COLD water. Can you believe...

White Water Rafting

by tsokoholic

A great adrenaline rush! But certainly not for the faint-hearted. A 13km run with 20+ rapids in Davao River with a brief stop for lunch in-between. Lunch, a bottle of water and all equipment are provided. Knowing how to swim isn't necessary. Not advisable for people with back problem and for those who are not comfortable in water.

Crocodile Park

by tsokoholic

Crocodile Park as the name suggests, houses and breeds crocodiles. Aside from crocodiles, there are also reptiles, orangutans, and birds. They also have a butterfly sanctuary. On sundays, they have a tightrope walker that performs above the crocodile pond.

Island Hopping

by tsokoholic

Island hopping is recommended for groups or those who have a lot of spare cash since you do have to hire a small boat to go around the different beaches. Usual route is around samal and Talikud Islands. you can go snorkelling in the coral garden as well. If you're lucky, you might get to see some dolphins while island hopping!
