If you want a new alternative way of going around gensan.
Hire a Habal-Habal motorcycle its cheap easy and fast.
Habal Habal are everywhere and drivers easy to talk to.
Hire them for a day, per trip depending on you.
Dont forget to haggle :-)
if you want to talk to the Generals (people of general santos)
you can visit the Gensan Online Forum
where generals can help you and give you answers about your questions regarding gensan.
Happy touring!

I just returned from my fourth trip to General Santos and Sarangani with my family. Its a beautiful part of Mindanao if you have not been there before. One constant issue in the past for us was transport as taxis are tough to come by outside of the city itself and with a young family shared transport isn't always convenient.
We rented a van with driver for a week from Vee Vans. The van was good, driver spoke english, and the rate great. He picked us up from the airport in Gen San, drove us around everyday, and then took us back to the airport.
We contacted them by email: vee.vans@yahoo.com
Enjoy Gen San!!

I just would like to say that Philippine Airlines doesn't have Cebu-GenSan flights. But Cebu Pacific, the number airline in the country, does have. The schedule is currently four (4) times a week - MWFS, and will soon be daily starting late November 2010.
Enjoy your trip with Cebu Pacific! :-)

Visitors who want a quick, airy and sunshiny tour of the city may take the ubiquitous tricycle which is basically a motorbike with a sidecar or the habal-habal, local term for a single motorcycle. A short trip costs P5 to P10. A whole day tour however must be pre-arranged with your hosts so that the locals will not overprice you. P100 would be fine for a tour around the city. Wear a BASEBALL CAP to ward off the heat. Bring a towel to wipe off the dust from your face.

tricycles abound within the city. They are not allowed on the highway.

The airport is 25 min. away by car from the city center. Taxis abound when you get out of the arrival section. 3 airlines fly to Gen San: PAL, Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific.

A: www.hotelsingensan.com/?page_id=143 has a list of several car rentals and taxis, otherwise just rent a multicab or jeepney, there seemed to be many doing nothing last...
