dont go here !!!

by cornishboy

I took a look at the new Mt Se hotel in Capipisa Tanza, Cavite and the hotel was ok but the Barangay Capipisa was not! That place was so dirty, dead dry fish along the roads, local people smoking marijuana along the roads drunks throwing bottles on the roads and the garbage ...PHEW !!! all the trees and flowers destroyed by the locals. What a mess.It is obvious that the Local Officials have no interest in their locale to allow it to be reduced to this state of ...well almost like a garbage dump...oh yes their employment is Dynamite fishing. more destruction of the Philippines by this BarangayMy advice....Do Not go there....it stinks.sorry to be so abrupt but thats what i fel.

Dumaguete- The most charming city in the Visayas!

by matt10gonzalez

Dumaguete has charm! No doubt about it! What's the only city in the Visayas that's quiant, walkable, has some pre-Spanish colonial archtecture (The Siliman university) and to top it off, has a clean, pretty boulevard that overlooks a reddish and romantic sunset everyday? Dumaguete! That's what! And to make things much better- it's not only rather charming, but also makes a good transport hub to beauties like Siquijor, Bohol, Cebu and even Northern Mindanao! To make things more a bargain, it's also cheaper than Manila! Wow! A jackpot! There's not much reason why you shouldn't visit one of the most charming cities in the Visayas, the only reason would probably be: That is either hate cities or you can't stand a day without a mall! (Because Dumaguete has less big malls than Bacolod and Iloilo in the Western Visayas region) COMMENTS:ME: Dumaguete is a great town if you want to get married!...

Off-Beaten Towns (Part 1) Negros Occ.and West Cebu

by matt10gonzalez

If you're going to take the bus and ferry trip from Bacolod to Cebu, be prepared to see the following towns in route! a.) San CarlosAh...San Carlos! A city that hugs the beautiful Tanon strait overlooking simple Toledo and Cebu! If you've been to Bacolod, well then this small town feels like 20 years back into the past when Bacolod was just a growing teenager with malls and fast-food chains still in construction! With still little hotels (as of 2005), only one (and very useful!) Lopue's mall that at least has a nice supermarket and with motor tricycles dominating the city streets and virtually hardly any tourists around, it's an interesting place- but not to linger for too long; Just good enough for transit. San Carlos is the port that connects to Cebu (adventurous row ferry!) and it's also a land hub for buses all over Negros! b.) ToledoWow...Toledo! If you thought San Carlos was...

Silay - Vigan without the tourists

by matt10gonzalez

Ah..Silay! Vigan part 2? Not quite! But it sure does have some similarities compared to Vigan!Just like Vigan, Silay has its own share and collection of ancestral houses some dating centuries old! However, unlike Vigan, Silay's collection is pretty small to Vigan and don't expect the streets to be pebbled and cobbled stoned and calesas (horse carriages) to be running around okay? Yet, despite that- Silay is still beautiful and very peaceful: If you want to walk back history to the sugar boom and Spanish influence in Negros, come to Silay! Let the beautiful houses of the Balay Negrense, Jalandoni house, the church (It's the most new and modern building here though!) and all the houses beside the plaza be your photogenic history guide! And guess what? There's very few tourists here! (Yup! Hardly any tour buses!) So good or bad, prepare to go off-beaten! If there's just 2 cities in all of...

Siquijor- More adventurous rather than Mystical!

by matt10gonzalez

f you read all the folk tales about Siquijor, research on the infamous, amazing healers of Siquijor and hunt down its eerie history (which has a lot of spirits and exorcisms), you'll think Siquijor is one creepy and cool place! But in reality, sadly, just like how all fantasies come to an end, Siquijor is nothing but a virgin island that's SO peaceful (There's hardly even a jeepney here! Rare for the Philippine standards!) and beautiful. Adventure lovers will love Siquijor! With waterfalls, caves, forests and beaches, and to make things much better: All are off-beaten which means there's 80% only you will have it all for yourself! Wow! But for mall lovers beware! Because the biggest supermarket here (as of 2005) was only just a mini sari-sari store! (A tiny store) And don't you dare ditch the mystical fantasies of Siquijor! It's what makes the place 5x more interesting! With its eerie...

Bohol- The Diamond of the Visayas

by matt10gonzalez

If there's one island in the Visayas that you shouldn't miss, let it be Bohol! Like a diamond that shines in the Visayan seas, this island is truly a diamond ONLY if you're a marine lover or a nature lover! (Mall lovers will find this a plague!) With natural world wonders such as the miraculous Chocolates hills (It was really like a miracle how these hills were formed in an amazing pattern!), virgin forests and ancient heritage churches and marine sanctuaries ready to boast to the world, Bohol truly is a diamond and deserves some time (and MONEY!) to visit! And finally don't forget the legendary cute Tarsier monkeys! The world's smallest monkey! If there should be an international ambassador for the Philippines, let it be the Tarsiers! Although they may be midgets in size, they are adaptable to any conditions, shy, laid-back (They sleep too much!) but also have a really good sense of...

Apulit Island (Club Noah) - What you pay is what y

by matt10gonzalez

Perched in its own private island in the tiny but beautiful Apulit island in exotic Palawan, this exclusive and luxurious resort is worth your every penny! Not only it has star facilities, food imported from the mainland but it also has something priceless that even billions of dollars can't buy: A superb sanctuary just below your cottage with lots and lots of fat, big and beautiful fishes ranging from 6-tooth fishes to lapu-lapus to Napoleon wrasse all amazingly friendly and used to people! (You can even pet the Napoleon wrasse!) And as of 1997, there used to be 3 otters swimming here that are just like the kids of the resort itself! They swim with you in the swimming pool, they run all over the place, it's like living in a zoo with no borders! And there's an extra bonus too: To get to Club Noah, you must take a river boat to get here and guess what? It passes through the river forests...

Iloilo- Bacolod's twin sister!

by matt10gonzalez

Just 1 hour away by ferry from Bacolod, Iloilo could pass as her twin sister! Just as progressive like Bacolod, Iloilo also has big malls (SM is the biggest), giant supermarkets, banks, juicy international dining options, universities, parks but what makes it different is that Iloilo is just a bit more lucky to have a nicer riverfront and wow! A Unesco world heritage site! The famous Miag-ao church! This beautifu exotic Spanish-Filipino styled church really deserves to be visited unless you're really allergic of churches! Also, like Bacolod can be the land transport hub for charming Dumaguete, Iloilo is the transport hub all over Panay including the famous Boracay and the sweet and cute- Guimaras island, a tiny island full of mangoes! (That's why it's sweet and cute!). So if you have the time, you can go to Iloilo and Bacolod! COMMENTS:ME: Even if it's just 1 hour away from Bacolod, I...

Boracay- Phuket's cleaner and whiter twin!

by matt10gonzalez

If you enjoyed Phuket, you'll probably enjoy Boracay or even love it more too! Like Phuket being the heartrob of Thailand or Bali being the heartrob of Indonesia, Boracay- is the Philippines' heartrob attracting all locals all over the country and foreigners all over the world and there is a good reason for this! See all adds, cliches of Boracay in the internet, brocheures and you'll most likely find out that Boracay has the WHITEST beach sand in the entire world! Which is really amazing! (You can't find that in the French Riviera or in Phuket!) Well, for once the cliches don't lie- Boracay really has fantastic white powder sands! And honestly speaking, even though sometimes algae and crowds infest the sands, the sands still remain amazingly powdery, white and fresh! And with crystal clear waters, who can't resist to take off their attires and splash and forget all your problems!...

Manila- The star and excitement of the Philippines

by matt10gonzalez

Call it whatever you wish, insult it like crazy! Call it a city to puke, a city that'll make me sick, a city I fear and so on! Or praise it whatever you wish, most locals and tourists (surprise!) do both! But! Manila will still remain- literally the star (It's the capital city after all!) and excitement of the Philippines!Like a star that brings hope, Manila brings lots of hope for Filipinos all over the nation! Being the biggest economic and most cosmopolitan powerhouse in the Philippines- it brings hope to almost all people throughout the Philippines! Dreams are made and won here: Dream jobs, stardom, dream schools, even dream love! However, like most big cities- not everybody's dreams are forged here- some fail but most eventually make it here. As for the tourist- Manila is still exciting: From the chaos of Binondo to the beautiful Spanish-Filipino Intramuros district to the high...
