Jollibee Fastfood - to some.. these are real food!

by myspices

As Jollibee and Chowking are the two fastfood chain stores all around Philippines (you practically can see any one of these ), we had to at least try one of it. Most of the times you can see that these fastfood stores are ever crowded - especially with children. We chose to try Jollibee as this was just next to the Dau Bus Terminal at Mabalacat where were we "hanging-out" and waiting for our bus to next destination at night. Lots of choices of set meals for you to choose - some comes with rice. Prices are reasonable. The Jollibee that we were at is a 24hours outlet.Ordered a burger set : cheese burger, fries and a coke Taste like any fastfood ..... (yummy?)

Nice name : Comfort Room

by myspices

Comfort Room - such a nice and cool name! In Philippines, most of the people will refer the washroom/restroom or the toilet as the Comfort Room. In public areas, you will normally find this sign...... "Clean Comfort Room".

Longganisa - all sizes !

by myspices

Longganisas are a specialty in Philippines, especially in Province of Pampanga. We were at Baguio market and saw this stall with a wide arrays of longganisas for sale. All you need to do is to deep fry these and there are ready to be eaten.Longganisas are made of minced meat stuffed into thin films of "tubes" . To separate each portion (depending on the length required) of the longganisas, a tiny string is tied and knotted. It is something like the sausages. The taste of the longganisas will depend how well the minced meat are marinated.

Relaxing Place to Stay

by namiewa

You'll find this view there in Grande Island resort located in the middle of Subic Bay. The place is relaxing ambience of home and fully equipped rooms with two king bed size. They have front beach, side beach and back beace where u can choose where to go swimming. At this time their pool are under renovation it will done next week. All i can say is that the place is awesome, and its quite place to relax good for group tour. they have Cultural Show at evening time during dinner. But it would be more nice if they have disco house where people who love to dance can go and have fun. I wish next time i come here they'll have that disco house already.

Friendly Filipinos

by AlbinoPrincess

Filipinos are very friendly people. If you need help, be sure to ask. Someone will be happy and willing to help you. Just like anywhere else in the world, you should be careful who you ask. If someone makes you uncomfortable, don't stick around. However, I did not run into any problems with any of the Filipinos I was with. When I am in the U.S., I miss my Filipino friends SO much. My friends that I met in Cebu are my best friends in the world. To be quite honest, if you told me that I had to choose between my friends in the Philippines and my friends in the U.S., I would choose my friends in the Philippines without hesitation. If it weren't for my family in the U.S., I would move to the Philippines without a backward glance.

We Call this LECHON

by namiewa

This is our National dish 'lechon ( le-chon') is a pig stuffed with rice or banana leaves, prepared on special occasions. The pig is roasted whole on a bamboo spit, then served with a sauce made from pigs liver or tomato sauce. If you attend any occasion here in Philippines specially at Barrios you will find Letchon at the table for sure. Or you can order this dish at restaurants too. As we Filipinos love food every occasion we do have Lechon. Thats one of the Philippine people can serve good dish to everyone. We usually have this kind of dish at Fiestas or Festival.
