Mimbalot Falls

by yen_2

If you happen to visit this place and I'm also in town. Drop me aline and I will tour you in this waterfalls city as we have plenty of it!Mimbalot is around 9 kilometers from the city. It's not very well maintained now a days as the owner abandoned this place many years ago but recently they just cleaned up this area as the tourism in this small city opened up again just as Iligan was featured in PAL-Philipine Airlines in-flight magazine.

enjoy a quiet picnic for free!

by tsan

along the highway from the very "entrance" of Iligan City (if you're coming from Cagayan de Oro), you'll see three quaint little cottages overlooking the beach. Many people doesn't know it but the cottages are for free. Yes, for free. you just have to clean your mess after you're through with your picnic... though i will mention there's no rest room nearby.Best times to go there: from 5-6 in the morning for a magnificent Iligan sunrise or from 5-6 in the afternoon for a breathtaking Iligan sunset.Suggested itinerary with family or friends:talk. laugh on old jokes. take a dip in the clear waters. munch some crispy and flavorful Iligan lechon soaked in Pinakurat.drink some ice cold Coke, Pepsi, Iced Tea or beer. take a dip in the clear waters again. take lots of candid photos with the sun and the sea as your backdrop.thank God for the free cottage "rent".=)

Trek to Agad-agad

by DarleneCMF

The first and only time I went to climb Mt. Agad-agad was December 2004, with my brother and sister. We just decided to go there one morning, which means this is a really easy activity to arrange. You have to be relatively fit though because it can be arduous and there are portions with steep slopes. Be ready to get yourself dirty. You would need to hang on to branches so you don't lose your footing. I would suggest that you go with somebody who has been there before becuase there are no directions. Or you can always ask the residents aong the way (up to the base) for directions. :)You can go up and back down in less than a day so very minimal supplies needed - just water and some snacks. And wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
