Ted's La Paz Batchoy: My great experience with batchoy

by IamPam Written Feb 7, 2013

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Ted's Old timer La Paz Batchoy is an institution in Ilo-Ilo. They have been in business since 1945. And because this is the most famous Batchoy place in Ilo-Ilo, every tourist must dine in here to taste thier famous batchoy dish.

Ted's has a lot of branches around Ilo-Ilo, but the their first and original store is located at La Paz Market. We tried their branch in Jaro. Since it was November 1st when we visited, there were only a few other customers beside our group. The restaurant's interior was your usual fast food ambiance, the staff are accomodating and the food are tasty.

Favorite Dish: BATCHOY! Batchoy is a noodle soup topped with chicharon and pork or chicken. There are three varieties of batchoy in Ted's The Special which is the basic chicharon and pork/chicken combo, the Super Special which has chicken liver and Extra Super Special which has chicken intestines. Because I'm not a big fan of eating innards, I ordered the Special batchoy which only has the basic stuff. Anyway, whatever type of batchoy you order pair it with "pandesal" (a local type of bread) and you're all set.

From my experience, batchoy from Ted's is the tastiest noodle soup I have ever tasted so far
