Safety Tips in Laoag City

At 8pm, there was nothing so much to do in Laoag. so we decided to check out the bar scene. Walking along the dark alleys, we couldn't find one, getting impatient, I asked this bank security for a "bar or disco". And he seemed so nice to hail a tricycle for us and directed the driver to B1 (i was like oh-kay, gotta look for B2 somewhere!)

After 20 min ride, after about 6 left turns, we came across this place, the guard was right: about 6 bars there. Only, there are about 6 girls in skimpy outfits and heavy make up all lined up outside each bar!

But maybe there is at least one single decent around here, I thought. Nada. Get me outta here, my mind is almost screaming. It took about 15 mins before we luckily got another tricycle (not so much tricycle around this area) who took us back. And guess what we found, Cockhouse bar, just about 2 blocks from our hotel!

Laoag is a clean city and the traffic generally flows very smoothly. Local authorities have had the foresight to ban tricycles from the main thoroughfares during the busy hours or periods, so the route through the center of the city should not cause major delays.
