Stroll the street of of the Lapu-Lapu

by shavy Written Feb 17, 2015

Lapu-Lapu is a nice place to stroll around, less crowded. Many expats living in this area, because is central in everything, and the accommodation is lower than elsewhere. Easy access to beach area, transportation were plentiful and very close to international airport and to the sea port. So many restaurants added lately.

We have so many Korean visitors in Lapu-Lapu, Korean air and Air Asiana has straight flight from Korea to Cebu. Also we have many Korean lives in Cebu, they can stay in Cebu for 20 years and afterwards they must leave. That's why we also have many Korean restaurants. Many of business open recently, that's why for the locals are not necessary to go to Cebu city, they all find everything in Lapu-Lapu now.

The Lapu Lapu Shrine, Mactan Island

by shavy Written Feb 16, 2015

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Lapu-Lapu shrine is about 15 minutes away from the city, the statue is about 20 meter high in bronze. The warrior statue standing with a sword and a shield, Lapu-Lapu statue said to be where the exact spot where battle was fought and where Magellan was killed

In my early times, there was a festival held every year in April to the place in Lapu-Lapu. But I don't know if they still done it. It gave a busy day for people who participate the battle festival, and for the spectators. Is a nice place to stroll around in the afternoon, and afterwards going to dine in for sea foods nearby. Also is a nice place where to hunt for local souvenirs after strolling the the park

The Marina Mall in Lapu-Lapu: All you need, while staying in the area

by shavy Updated Feb 16, 2015

No need to go to Cebu City. In Lapu-Lapu there is also a small malls where you find all you need. Marina Mall is a two storey building. First floor where all the small shops such as: souvenir shops, electronics shop, apparel and leather. Also in the first floor you'll find one beauty salon for nails, haircut, etc

Savemore supermarket is also in the first floor, they have everything you need for grocery. Next to Savemore grocery is a pharmacy. Internet cafe also available inside the mall. If one need a new phone or simcard, there is a phone shop where you can buy phone accessories.

Currency exchange booth is inside the Marina Mall, I always change my money here, they have reasonable rates. Second level is where you can have some spas, and a clinic, and more shops on the second floor.

After strolling the mall there 14 restaurants in the mall where you can dine, Korean, Thai, Italian and more of international cuisine. It is well worth to visit the mall, and very close to the airport. If one need a ferry ticket, there is a ticket office where one can purchase , or if just need some information for ferry from Cebu, is a place to be, to ask some information for timetable. The opening hour of the mall is at 9am, some business open earlier and open late till 9pm
