Favorite thing: ATMs on an international network are not easy to find in the North Luzon. Most big cities will have atleast one. In Bontoc, there is the LandBank (near Plaza) that has an ATM, but not on an international system, or atleast our card didn't work. We then tried the Philippines National Bank (PNB) and they have an ATM, which is inside surrounded by armed guards.

Favorite thing: When you happen to be in Bontoc, whether you are a local or foreign tourist and you don't know how to speak igorot dialect or ilocano, you better speak in English rather than Filipino language. It may seem ironic but it is.
It is because majority of igorot people especially the older ones are very much fluent in english. Those younger ones are the ones who can understand Filipino.... ironic?but that's the truth...
Fondest memory: Of course, I will never forget the one of a kind rugged trips, the mountains surrounding me, the fresh air and the serenity it offer...
I guess all the things that you cannot find in the city, basically..

Favorite thing: As I was traveling with my 11 year-old son we were always approached by children and adults that wanted to talk with us so it made it kind of nice to always talk with the local people!! Some people are very shy and others will talk all day long!

Favorite thing: This bunch of pigs was just screaming right near the Jeepney stop. So I had to take a picture of them! The big male kept biting the others! It scared my son to see such a mean pig!! One of his favorite movies when he was younger was "Babe Pig in the City" He thought all pigs were nice.

Favorite thing: Wandering around town is all we really did. We had about 3 hours before the next jeepney was heading to Sagada. Just so you know...If you want to catch a jeepney to Sagada there isn't a set time that it leaves...It leaves when it's full! So a few minutes can turn into hours if no one wants to go!
