The Provincial Capitol building in Bontoc is of American architecture, a sign of the travels of American missionaries in this part of the country in the early 1900's where they stayed for quite a long time.
Be sure to check the Bontoc Village Museum, a good primer of Cordillera culture.
No need to stay overnight in Bontoc if you havent enough time. Make it a sidetrip on the way to or from Sagada. Spare 2 hours for the tour within the town.

A good primer of Cordillera cuture, the Bontoc Village Museum showcases the history of the Cordilleras, crafts, traditions as documented by age-old pictures, clothings, battle gears, traditional home gadgets, earthen and wooden wares, etc.
Note that early ancestors were headhunters.

Sagada has a lot of interesting places>>Hanging Coffins at Echo Valley, Sumaguing Caves are the favorites. Waterfalls reachable within an hour hike and a lot of caves everywhere within the limestone cliffs by the mountain side. Check also pockets of rice terraces in the outskirts within a short hike or a MTBike ride.

Taken on our way to Kiltepan Tower. There are a nice varieties of things to buy inside this place - their products are sturdy and very colorful. We saw many products when we were in Baguio a few days earlier and they are cheaper in Sagada.
