El Circulo: Night Music and Dance

by cyberhunk

Entertainment often follows a sumptuous meal. Heralded as Asia's entertainment capital, Metro Manila is awash in neon in the evening. Nightlife is a source of adventure to many people, the adrenaline rush that goes through your system as you walk in a jumping loud bar with beautiful people surrounding you is to make this experience something to look forward to during your holiday in the Philippines. There are hi-tech discos, bars and pubs, coffee shops, music lounges and night clubs with nightly show bands performing a wide range of music to choose from. For visitors who enjoy cultural shows, the Cultural Center of the Philippines is the favoured venue, aside from the cultural dance troupes that perform regularly in some hotels and restaurants. Casinos are also open 24 hours for those who want to try their luck at the slot machine, roulette, black jack and baccarat tables.

Padis Point Bar & Restaurant: Cool, Groovy and Cozy

by cyberhunk

Padi's Point is my favorite night spot when I want to relax and enjoy cool and lively musicPadi's Point offers a unique selection of food like sizzling seafoods or cripsy sisig. The ambience is cool, cozy and friendly. Price is inexpensive and very affordable compared to other bars. No typical dress code except no slippers or undershirts.

Hyatt Calesa Bar: Get Acquainted with the Local Entertainers

by whvcebu

When I came to the Philippines in 1973 the Calesa Bar at the Hyatt has been my favorite hang out at nighttime. This habbit has not changed for the past 30 years. Whenever I visit Manila Calesa is on schedule to meet old friends.Excellent live bands and or piano music with my favorite local entertainers are on schedule every night.Business men, journalists, singers, movie actors and actresses, name it- you meet them all and make friends. Depending on the occassion. Business suit, or casual attire is welcome. Sneakers, shorts or punk style would not be welcomed

Capone's: Start the Weekend Off Right

by noli

Capone's is a cool place to hang out with your friends to grab some dinner or a few drinks while you listen to many of the Philippines' best bands play their hit songs. The place has two levels with multiple tables set up around the band and a bar located to the rear of the establishment. Pick a table on the second level or kick it by the bar if you want to be able to carry on conversation with your date or buddies without having to yell because the band likes to turn it up at this place. On the Friday night when I went, the crowd seemed to be young business people and foreigners ranging in age from their mid-twenties to early thirties celebrating the arrival of the weekend. The guy to girl ratio was a decent 1:1. The dress code at Capone's is pretty casual, athough, I don't think they'd let you in in shorts and a t-shirt. The guys were usually dressed in slacks or jeans and the ladies...

Leaving Fee?: What is Leaving Fee?

by kahunayummy

This can be confusing for the first timer to the Philippines. Basically a leaving fee is the cost payed to the bar, restaurant, Karaoke Club or whatever for the permission of a lady to leave with a guest. The bars lose is your gain and you have to pay for it. Sometimes it is for an hour, a half day or an entire evening. Sometimes buying the lady 10 "lady drinks" (usually three times more expensive than yours) will qualify as a leaving fee. You can even do a leaving fee for a week (expensive)!Leaving fee, although common, are not exactly legal with most authorities within the Philippines. The general procedure is to talk to the girl of your choice and if she wants to go out bar hopping or on a date with you she will call over the mamasan who will then tell you the charge for the lady to leave for the night. The leaving fee can range from P500 to P1600 in most places but policies do...

What is Wild?: Angeles City, The New Wild Wild West

by kahunayummy

The city is has been called a "Wild West Town, type of place" which is pretty accurate. There are no Taxi's to speak of for example and getting around is by Trike, Jeepney or on foot. Although, you can hire a motorbike at Swagman Travel for example for P500 a day. The streets are dirty, broken and much of the area in non-paved. There is trash on the streets and you might fall into a pothole if you don't look were you are walking. As strange as this may seem, it is one of my favorite cities to nose around and explore -- it is so much fun and you never know what to expect as you walk down an unknown alley (be carefull though as to what you may find -- yes, this is what to expect -- but be warned, many some are Bacala's, men pretending to be women) or open a bar door and there is your dream girl smiling back at you. Jesus, what a place!Yes, there is no crystal clear beaches, tennis clubs...

Foxys Bar: Angeles City Night Clubs

by kahunayummy

FOXYS BAR with some of the best decor in the whole of Angeles. The center stage is in the shape of a hexagon, with seating all around, is well designed. Again the web style bikini outfits are very fetching, and they have some secluded and tastefully styled booths where you can sit andchat in relatively luxurious surrounds.

Rumours Night Club: Angeles City Night Clubs

by kahunayummy

Inside there is a stage with upwards of 25 girls now employed and dancing their socks off -- the atmosphere here is generally great with some nice staff, including Yolie and Jasmine behind the bar and believe me guy's you will not find a better looking D.J anywhere in the Philippines than Marianne :-). The music is good with the right mixture of oldies Rock n' Roll and Disco stuff mostly supplied by myself! There are video screens showing "Mr. Bean" and various entertaining tapes such as a Motorcycle Crash Tape which appears to be popular. There is a pool table within as well. The location is perfect, next to three or four Hotels in Malabinias Road

Pink Pussy Cat: Angeles City Night Clubs

by kahunayummy

The bar is large and spacious inside, with a lounge area for a relaxing drink to enjoy some warm friendly hospitality from the GROís. There is an area for pool and even darts. The bar has some teams in local leagues that ex-pats and visitors are always made welcome to play a game or two, over an ice- cold beer or three! There is a stage with some dancers and even a go-go type cage for the girls to dance their socks off in. Prices, here as in most local bars away from the tourist orientated Fields Ave, are far less expensive, and that helps those on a budget.Local Drinks at the Pink Pussycat are P20 (only!) whilst a ladies drink is P80. They are open from 10am through until 1am and have a happy hour from 10am through until 8pm.

The Conservatory: COnservatory @ The Pen

by arni_ph075

The Conservatory is one of my favorite lounge in Makati.. Mon to Saturday there are 2 or 3 sets of bands playing. One band will play different type of music from the other.. (one band are playing soul, other one is retro). The bands that play are mostly one of the country's best bands. Music being played range from soul, pop, jazz, blues and retroHyper Beat plays there its all female vocals, with coordinated dance steps and sings disco songs..it always get the audience to stand and dance with them.. The lounge is really cozy, with the comfortable rattan chairs, and at the back are sofas to cater for big groups.. Food and drinks are reasonable priced, its even cheaper than other bars in the metro (a wonder indeed).. There is a minimum charge but its consummable, still at good value around 300 pesos.. Semi Formal, Smart Casual, No strict dress code, but being located in a 5 star hotel at...
