Packing List

Take your old summerdress with you and give it away before you leave.Philippines is a very cheap place to buy clothes so buy what you need when you come.Look after your luggage wherever you are.People are so poor so if you dont look after it will just go away.Buy you a money belt you can have under your clothes and have some small notes in your pocket so you dont need to take the big ones up. Hiking Remember its sometimes very humid so only take cameras with you who can take that. Remember a very good flashlight (its a must !! ) There is many brownouts so you often need light....flashlight !!Take a good book with you as its nice to have on a rainy day !!

Soft bags, and nothing too posh. if you're going away from the cities you'll be in jeepneys, and your luggage will be on the roof - battered and filthy. Also keep valuables inside, and put stuff in waterproof bags if possible - it does rain and your luggage won't be protected! You'll need very little of anything - it is ALWAYS hot! Sounds bizarre, but bring some medicated talc - the climate can be very humid and it is excellent for drying yourself after a shower/swimming. Otherwise beware the dreaded nappy rash! Advantix films can be very hard to get hold of and very expensive - bring lots.

Any type of bag is okey. no preffered clothing. just wear anything that you are comfortable. but when you're visiting during 'wet/rainy season' (August to Nov) don't forget to bring umbrellas with you. :) Bring paracetamol for headaches and colds. this is due to constant change of weather and or temperature.

Waterproof shoes in the rainy season or sandals and shorts at the rest of the time. Can get most things except sun tan lotion. Take mosquio repellent but you can buy it locally easily. Boracay can be very basic. Cebu is quite posh.

Inexperienced travelers take note:Always carry your essential documents -- passports, money, credit cards, and air tickets -- on your person. Under no circumstances should you pack them, whether in your hand luggage or your checked bag. To do so invites disaster.

Tips when being a Tourist

Always go to the bathroom before you leave the hotel room or house. If you know you will be going to the bathroom, be prepared to wait in a really long line and bring your own toilet paper!

Sunblock! Lots of it!

by celbee

Comfortable shoes is a must...and umbrella (brolly). Bring lots of sunblock if you're planning to enjoy the outdoors...Bring your trusted prescriptions and medicines.

I would take 2 empty suitcases and fill them up when you go shopping.Whatever you need you can buy for a fraction of the price in the USA.

Bottled water

by allelli

Tap water is safe to drink in most places but if your stomach is sensitive you can buy mineral water in the bottle beside Philippines have so many refilling station any where you go.

Sandals

Slip free sandals/flip flops because the sidewalks can be slippery when wet.
