Market Shopping by sirenna There are plenty of shops in Boracay selling bags - they make good presents or souvenirs. Small rucksacks and sports bags are available, as are hand luggage type bags. There are a few shops selling evening bags, though usually the quality is not good, and fake designer labels abound. There is a great selection of beach bags though, so there is no need to bring those.
There are many shops selling a wide variety of footwear, from sandals and slippers to dressy shoes. Kaycee Shoes (located in D'Mall) will even let you create your own! If you are planning on hiking or biking, be sure to have comfortable walking shoes or well fitting sandals. Otherwise thongs/flip flops will be fine for every day. For days on the beach, no shoes are necessary.
There are several well stocked pharmacies here, a couple of medical clinics and a hospital. You don't need to bring things like paracetamol or anti diarrea medication as they are readily available here.
There are several shops here selling photo equipment, batteries and film. They also develop. Some places also have the facility to transfer digital photos onto a disk - if the photo lab can't do it, inquire at the nearest internet cafe.
Hats, towels, sunglasses etc can all be purchased on the island if you didn't bring your own. There is no need to bring mosquito repellent as there are plenty of shops here that sell it. The same goes for sun screen - many good brands are now available.
The Tourist Center has an air-conditioned shop selling toiletries, grocery items, beachwear, wines and spirits, dairy products and more. You can change money and travelers cheques there, book/confirm flights and use the internet. The tourist center tends to charge the highest prices though, and there are a variety of little shops along the beach selling the same or similar goods at cheaper prices. You'll also be able to find most things you need in D'Mall, close to boat station 2, or in Crafts Department store. Leave a Comment

Bank by asianbelle As much as possible, take a back pack with you. It is easier to carry especially in getting on and off the boat.
Don't ever, ever forget to bring your beach wear. It doesn't matter whether it's a 2-piece or 1-piece swimsuit, tank top and shorts, or even T-shirt and shorts; what is important is, you have one with you. For footwear, rubber sandals or thongs are suggested, although walking barefoot is common.
These stuff are readily available in the general merchandise stores scattered within the island.
Make sure that your electronic devices and photo equipment are placed in waterproof cases. Getting on and off the boat can get you and your bags wet, especially during high tide. Bring an underwater disposable camera if you plan to explore the surrounding islands where corals and tropical fishes abound.
For those who cannot leave home without their cellphones, both Globe and Smart have strong signals (as evident by their logos printed on the sail of the paraws). For the VT addicts, there are internet cafes with broadband services. There are also restaurants with wi-fi or hotspots. While credit card is accepted in select hotels and restos, there are 3 major banks with ATM services - Metrobank, Landbank and BPI - in case you ran out of cash. Metrobank is located at Brgy. Manggayad's busy street, while Landbank and BPI are both along White Beach - Landbank is at Boat Station 1 and BPI is within D'Mall. Leave a Comment

First aid kit, just in case by mojacko A back pack or small gym bag. Travel light. It's easier to get on & off the boat walking down a narrow plank without having to balance a whole load of stuff.
Sandals and slippers. Shorts. Some people are already in swimwear when they ride the plane. Not a bad idea. You wil get wet to your knees. Sarongs are very useful there.
1)Insect repellant. While I personally did not have any insect problems, I saw a young French boy who had large mosquito bites on his face. He didn't seem to mind, though. 2) First -aid kit. Just in case you go on an island tour and get a few scrapes.
If you plan to go snorkelling, a disposable underwater camera! Lots of film or a good digital camera. There will be lots of photo opportunities.
Frisbees and voleyballs. Floating toys for the little ones.
A map. I just downloaded a map from bluemaroon.com and that had most of the resorts and restos on white beach. Buy purified water before you get here. It's overpriced on the island.

Me and Werner's feet at Boracay white sand beach by kylian74 Light clothes preferably shorts and T-shirs. it can be always a 'wet landing' upon arrival in Boracay from the motorboat you have to step on the water and sandy beaches before proceeding to your booked resort.
Absolutely never forget your photo equipment if you want to have some Boracay paradise pictures.
Always beach gear is the most comfortable attire. At night you can choose to wear long pants to protect from any insects or mosquito bites. Leave a Comment

If you're taking Cebu Pacific going to Boracay, I suggest you buy one of their travel pouches that you can hang on your neck. It can carry your cash, card and cellphone. I assure you you'll find it very useful. This costs around P80 (US$ 2). If you're not travelling via Cebu Pacific, you can also find similar pouches in D'mall but it's more expensive. Average price is P150 (US$4).
Do not forget your toothbrush! A P35 (US$ 1) Oral-B toothbrush in Manila cost me P80 (US$ 2)!
Do not forget your camera, of course. You can take a lot of beautiful pictures in the island! Buy your batteries in Manila as it can get expensive there.
Good if you can bring a beach mat, otherwise, you can always use the huge towels from the resort! ;)
Water is very expensive in Boracay. I suggest you contact Agua Vida (288-3754) to have water delivered to your doorstep. You can use the hotel's landline. What we usually do is rent their 5-gal container with faucet. You pay P500 (US$12.50) outright. It's P80 (US$2) per 5-gal water, P70 (US$1.75) for the rental of the container, then you get P350 (US$8.75) back when you return the container. It's cheaper that way. Everything is more expensive in Boracay. If you're on a budget, bring staple food like bread and canned goods. A loaf of Gardenia bread costs around P80 (US$2) when it's just P40 (US$1) here in Manila.

For a traveler like me,I suggest just a backpack, its compact and easier to carry around with both your hands free to carry any extra bag or just free to swing on.
Just bring your swimwear, shorts, any comfortable shirt or sleeveless, slippers w/c are best for walking along the beach and stalls, aqua shoes so you can avoid any accidents like stepping on rocks in the water and bruise yourself ,visor and shades.
Well, the usual, sunblock lotion if you don't want a tan,a moisturizer to avoid dryness of the skin esp after swimming in the sea, toothpaste, shampoo, etc all in sachets to lessen your load in the bag.Me, I've frogotten to bring my mosquito repellant then but fortunately there were no mosquitos during our stay.
Your digital camera,of course! Even your camera-enabled phone is helpful, including those unforgetable videos are well kept in your phone. You can even bring a disposable underwater camera w/c you can buy in any sports shop.If your traveling alone or just the two of you, better bring your tripod or else you'll always get photos solo.
No need to bring a lot of clothes coz once you get there you'll definitely be tempted to buy new ones especially those new style of clothing fit for boracay like the sarong, tops, loose korean pants and even boracay-printed sandos.
And don't forget your MONEY!You can never go around boracay w/o spending! But don't bring a lot of cash, there are lots of ATMs there now unlike before there's only one bank around with ATM,its Allied or Landbank ,I think.Lastly, don't forget your plane ticket!
