The clear, placid waters of Boracay are ideal for kayaking - whether you're an absolute novice looking to splash around on the beach or an experienced paddler ready to take off on a round-the-island voyage. Kayaking in the shallows will give you amazing views of the coral reefs, and you can also do a spot of beach-hopping.
There are several outlets along the White Beach where you can rent a kayak, including Scuba World. Leave a Comment Theme: Kayaking/CanoeingAddress: White Beach

Whoosh! by sirenna Surf along the shoreline in the shallow water on a wooden board. I've watched this sport take off in a big way in Boracay in the last couple of years. If you want to join the fun, just get chatting to some of the guys and they'll help you get started. Be prepared to fall unceremoniously on your butt numerous times!
You can buy boards from the little shop next to Bom Bom Bar (between boat stations 2 and 3). Leave a Comment Theme: Beach ActivitiesAddress: White BeachDirections: Outside Hey Judes Bar and Bom Bom Bar, and various locations on White Beach.

Tennis Courts @ T & T by sirenna This is not actually a sport I'm any good at, but some of my friends do go regularly, and seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves. I'm told the courts are in need of a bit of repair. It costs P150 per hour to play.
You can rent equipment from T & T, or bring your own. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Tirol & Tirol ResortPhone: 036 288 3165Directions: Near boat station 2, White Beach.Website: www.tirolandtirol.com

Boracay Blades womens team (they just won)! by sirenna This is hard work, but my friends really enjoy it. Competitions are held every year in Boracay. You'll have to stick around for a while to get involved in the action, but it's fun to watch.
Boats and paddles are provided! Leave a Comment Theme: Beach ActivitiesAddress: White Beach

Skimboarding is a sport similar to surfing which takes place near the shore. The skimboarder wait for that wave that would bring at least 3-inch deep spread of the water over the flat sand surface. When a perfect wave breaks, the skimmer run towards it with the skimboard still in hand. Planing the board on the water surface upon dropping it, the skimmer jump onto it as quickly as possible. Once on the board, the skimmer must remain as stable as possible and balance as the board speeds in parallel with the sea shore. Skilfull variations are like when the skimmer then glides out into the ocean toward the oncoming wave, banks off of it, and rides it back into shore. I even saw somebody doing a hand-stand skimming. There are many possibilities for riding the waves and this is where skimboarding gets really fun and interesting.
Locally-made skimboards are sold at P1000+ by the white beach area. Shaped like surf boards but smaller in size of 1meter long by half meter wide, these boards are made of marine-type plywood and finished with polished painted surface. Artwork designs on the board are expressive of the freestyle and thrill of the sport. There are many snorkelling sites around Boracay Island but where we love most is the coral reef at the northeast coast of the island at Yapak. The place eventually becomes full of boats bringing divers as they come and go for an average of 1 hour snorkel activities all day long. The more the merrier, I feel, with this kind of activity. What makes snorkeliing here a hit? Our tour guide advised us to bring bread to feed the fishes. We didnt know until we were on it that the fishes would have a bite of that bread right upon releasing them in your hand. (It is a scary feeling to hold on anticipating the fishes would bite your fingers). Surely, it was a very close encounter with these rainbow-colored tropical fishes.
We brought our own gears but these could be rented from the boat operators at about P100 per set. Also, for the not-so-athletic bodies, wearing a life vest would be a plus. Theme: Scuba DivingAddress: Yapak, BoracayDirections: A tour around the island would definitely pass by this area

sailing by maple_air The place offers a whole lot of sport and beach activities, so there's no room for boredom. Sailing, paragliding, banana boat ride, flying fish ride, jet skiing, diving, snorkeling.....anything you could think of, its here. Or even if your not very keen on water sports, you can also play frisbee with your mates or if not beach volleyball. I've seen a Men and Women's rowing team, but i'm not too sure if its open to everybody who wants to join in. Leave a Comment Theme: Beach Activities

banana boat by maple_air That's me, my papa, and my cousins, waving to the camera just before the boat speed off to take us to the deeper part of the sea. We were so excited, as we do not know what to expect. Everyone is made to wear a life vest, and given a small briefing on what to do and a little of what to expect before setting off. Lab..dub..lad..dub...i could here my heart beating with excitement! Leave a Comment Theme: Beach Activities

Calypso Diving Resort, Boracay by phil_uk_net This was one of my main reasons for going to Boracay. I did my diving at the Calypso Diving Resort and arranged it from England through Whitetip Divers in Manila (www.whitetip.com). I enjoyed diving here. For one, there were very few divers when I went. On a lot of dives it was just me and the diving instructor which sure beats being on a crowded dive boat. There is a good mixture of diving and most sites are only a short boat ride away from the island. Another nice thing is that you only have to walk across the beach to get from the dive shop to the beach. No early pick ups and long drives to the local harbour. There is a good drift dive in one of the channels between Boracay and a neighbouring island. Other sites have a good range of tropical fish and coral. Yapak 2 is the most challenging dive I have ever attempted - in fact it took 2 attempts as I ran into a few problems on my first attempt. It is a deep dive and a fast descent is required. Currents can be strong and therefore experience is required. However, you will have the chance to see some of the bigger stuff.
I took only a mask and rented everything else. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba DivingAddress: Boracay Island, Malay 5608, Aklan, PhilippinesPhone: (+63) 36 288-3206Directions: White Beach, BoracayWebsite: www.calypso.ph Other Contact: Email: info@calypso-asia.com
