White beach was everything, and more, that I expected it to be. It was really stunning, with white sand and a gently sloping beach leading into a beautiful sea you can wade in. Although the water was slightly cloudy on our visit (due to a storm before we arrived) I could imagine how stunning and clear it must be normally.

The beach has all the bars and restaurants along it that you can want or need, as well as gift shops and market stalls. The beach has water sport facilities, including diving and snorkeling.

The beach area are located by way of stations, and there are 3 stations that make up White Beach.

Station 3 or Boat Station 3, budget and native style bungalows are located here, it is also said to be the quietest part of White Beach. Good prices for digs are to be found at this end, with fewer people walking around.

Station 2 or Boat Station 2, and as you can imagine with this are being the central area of the beach, it is also the heart of the beach, where most of the bars, restaurants and shops are. D'Mall is in this area, and we had a lovely meal of lobster and prawns at a restaurant at the entrance to D'Mall, and there is free WiFi here too. Digs are at all prices here, so it is just a matter of what takes your fancy.

Station 1 or Boat Station 1. From Station 3 with lower priced places to stay, to Station 2 where you will find a mix of fair, expensive, and budget hotels, to Station 1 where the more expensive and exclusive hotels are located, and a lot of those hotels are right on the wider stretch of beach here.

But to honest, and from what I have seen, anywhere on White Beach was good, although louder in the middle, that is where everything was happening.

    White Beach Walk

    Clouds and Sunset

If you don't feel like swimming, you can just take a walk at the white beach which I'm sure is a very relaxing experience. You can see the sunset, check some good buys at the shops near the shore and take pictures of the picturesque beach, which I did.

Posing on White Beach in Boracay.

White beach is the most famous and longest beach on Boracay.
It´s known for it´s very fine white sand and this is also where the masses gather.
The beach has both crowded and more quiet ares though and then you can choose what suits you the best.
It´s devided in to what they call stations and there are 3 of them.
Station 2 is the most popular one and right in the middle.
This part of the beach seems to be popular mostly with korean, chinese and russian tourists.
station 3 is the more posh one and has quite a lot of philippine visitors as well as a pretty big mix of other nationalities who prefer to pay extra for higher quality.
Station 1 is the most quiet one and it´s also the budget part of the beach and has a bit of a backpacker crowd and bohemian atmosphere, aswell as a bunch of other people who prefer to have it more laid back and cheap.

Boracay was an untouched island without electrisity in the beginning of the 90's. There were small cottages along the beach and the locals lived beside the tourists. The roads had no asphalt paving. The tourist arrived with longtail boats right on White beach. You just told the skipper what part of the beach you should stay in.

Boracay is famous for its long white sandy beach. Almost 6km long.

So a stroll along the beach during the day or evening is a wonderful experience. There are many souvenir shops, accomodations and eating and drinking places along the entire beach.

Dancing on the beach under the moon can be a nightly event.

    Sand, Sea & Sun
    1 more image

For everybody who loves sea, sand and sun, White Beach in Boracay is the ultimate place to have it. The finest and whitest sand complements the calm clear water.

The depth of the water gradually slopes into the sea. At a distance of more than 20m from the shore, it is possible for an adult enjoying the water with feet touching the ground and head still up from the water surface . My kids feel safe in playing by the water knowing they could touch ground and not much big waves breaking. Building sandcastles by the shore in betwen dips adds more fun, and time unnoticeably passes by. They seem not to mind the heat of the sun - a lot of sunblock lotion needed.

    Boracay at Low Tide

White Beach is Boracay's premier attraction. It is 3.5 kilometers of glistening, powdery, white sand. At low tide - usually late afternoon to around midnight in July, the beach could be 100 meters wide in many areas.

The beach from north to south is 4km long. So it is also called "Long Beach Island". See the beautiful white and velvety sand? We also found that the northern beach is much better than the southern part.

What else do you do in a tropical island such as this, just lie down, sunbathe, get in the water, and chill over a nice cold beer or cocktail.
