This is an altar designed also as a lookout. Behind the statue of Our lady of Salvation, the scenery is so beautiful. One could see the calm sea and green fields. This is a great place to relax after a long drive...to stretch those numb and tired muscles.

Shrine of Our Lady Salvation is also known as Joroan Church (not Jordan Church as written in some tourist guidebooks). This is a small church famous for the venue of the yearly pilgrimage to our Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, the Patroness of Albay. This year, the activity was scheduled in August 25-26. According to the information posted at the church:

Perigrinasyon sa Mag-Agahon is the name given to an overnight activity of the Parish of St. Lawrence (Tiwi) and Shrine of Our Lady Salvation (Joroan), this happens on the last Friday of August from 7:00pm to 5:30am the following day. The activity starts with registration of delegates, novena, confessions, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Concelebrated Mass at 11:30pm (Tiwi), Penitential Procession to Joroan at 1:00am, then Concelebrated Mass in Joroan at 4:30am. This is participated in by thousands of pilgrims from the Rinilisan towns of Camarines Sur and hundreds from the different towns of Sorsogon.

When was the last time you saw a dragonfly? For me it has been ages so I am overjoyed to see plenty of those here in Joroan. There are so many of them, the place is really a nature paradise.
