Gerry Shan's Place is a simple but clean and airconditioned restaurant at the poblacion frequented by tourists. I noticed that many local office workers eat there, and many Balerianos also buy take-out orders. The next time we go to Baler, I plan to order packed foods for our picnic at Diguisit.
Gerry Shan's Place is known for reasonably priced and delicious food. You can even order only 1/2 portion of the dish. Their Chinese and local dishes are popular among local tourists, but I noticed foreigners liked fresh seafoods (prawns, crabs, etc) simply steamed.
Favorite Dish: Favorite Chinese foods: Yang Chow, Pancit Canton & Lumpiang Shanghai
Favorite Local Foods: Halohalo & Leche Flan (w/ real dayap aftertaste)
Their Calamares was crispy and tasted good only while hot, but when cold, the batter became gummy. The meat they used for their sisig was like chopped lechon kawale (crispy yet tender to the bite) so this is more healthy than the usual sisig. However, the taste was a little bit on the bland side; something was lacking.

Bay's Inn is sought by Baler tourists for its good food at reasonable prices. I noticed that even guests (local & foreign tourists) of other resorts go there to eat. Residents of Aurora usually bring their guests there, too.
Having tried their food, I can say they are good for the price but not extraordinarily spectacular. Service quality is not consistently good; it depends on available ingredients of the kitchen, the number of dining tourists, and of course, the efficiency of your waiter.
What is definitely spectacular is the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, Baler Bay and Sierra Madre Mountains from the restaurant and picnic cottages.
Favorite Dish: No particular favorite

The food was great! youll be getting the best value for your money, all of their food are cooked by order so there would be a little wait if you are quite starving. They have big servings of their dishes most food in the metro they also have just like Gery's and Dencio's resto. They also serve a bunch of seafoods, If you want food choices, value for money, ambience this is your restaurant to go to!
Favorite Dish: Lechon Kawali, Kilawing Tanigue and Chopsuey. We were so full after our Lunch.

Why not try local dishes from these canteens just in front of the town hospital? Local stuff like pinapaitan (animal usually goat entrails), bulalo (beef soup with meat and bones), kare-kare (beef or pig tails), etc. Low priced for the budget traveler.
