This is a sad little site which needed to be visited by people who tour Bataan. It is located on the back lot of a public elementary school in the center of the city. I went to the left side of the cove to take pictures. Curiousity got the better of me so I went further to see the site of Old Montemar. While I was there, I felt some small bites on my legs which I thought were the doing of mosquitoes (it was a little bit dark yet), but I couldn't see anything. When we got back to Montemar Resort, I told the nurse...

I think it is a must for every Filipino to go and visit the Shrine of Valor (Dambana ng Kagitingan) atop Mt. Samat! I have been there several times but it still is special! Araro Cookies are small, whitish with cashew nut type of bread and are the most sought after cookie in Bataan. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as it melts in your mouth. Manuel's family business has been producing this excellent cookie since 1955 . You will find the cookies on sale at various establishments throughout Bataan and are well worth buying for gifts to friends.
Araro is a root crop and is ground in to flour, then milk salt and cheese is added before placing in small decorative trays and are cooked in the oven for 30 minutes.

    yummy yummy!
