Nasugbu Off The Beaten Path

We took a short 30 minutes tricycle ride from Nasugbu to Balaytique.

The vehicle had to climb a mountain ridge and from that vantage point, we soaked in the beauty of what Philippines has to offer - wide expanse of sea on the right, and padi fields on the left. The camera in my head captured so many lovely images.

The roads were in pretty good condition and as we headed up the mountain, the weather also became cooler. I didn't expect that as I thought it was not that much higher from ground level. But I guess it was.

...want a glimpse of historic nasugbu...in a room...bsu arasof campus host a unique museum...old receipts, old things old coins...old fresses, old fresses... open during school days...

...take care of the things...the old owners may be watching

Mt. Talamitam is a 600 m high extinct volcano only 2 hrs trek from the National Highway at Sitio Bayabasan, Brgy. Aga, Nasugbu. It boasts of a 360 degree view of western Batangas and the highlands of Cavite. It's a fairly easy trek but the final assault can be difficult for the inexperienced. First stage of the trek passes through a barangay road down to the Talamitam/Kaybanban footbridge, crossing a stream that will become Tumalim River downstream. Next is a long climb through dense undergrowth, then a relatively flat agricultural land and a meadow (beware of crazy cows!). The last assault is pretty steep, among high 'talahib' grass and you can barely see where you came from and the summit will just be a big surprise when you think the trail still goes up forever. There are two clearings for camp sites when you get to the summit. When you go down, turn right at the footbridge for a couple hundred meters exploration of the cascades going down to Layong Bilog.
