Favorite thing: There is a nice jetty area on the Taal Volcano island for Bancas (traditional boats) ferrying tourists to arrive and depart. I managed to take a few nice photographs of this place before I left the island and would like to share them with all of you.

Favorite thing: For those of you who are still wondering whether it is worth going up Taal Volcano when you are in Talisay, I would recommend you to do so even though it is not cheap because this is an unique experience and the scenery along the journey is really beautiful especially on a sunny day, which I was very lucky to have when I was there in May 2006.

Favorite thing: When you reach the crater rim of Taal Volcano, you will see a small island in the volcano lake. This island is interesting, and people have said that it is an island within a lake (i.e. small volcano lake of Taal Volcano) within an island (i.e. Taal Volcano island) within a lake (i.e. the big Taal Lake). Actually you can add another island behind this phase since everything is located in Luzon island of the Philippines, making it "An island within a lake within an island within a lake within an island" !

Favorite thing: When you look carefully at the crater rim of Taal Volcano, you will see layers of volcanis deposits on the side of the small volcanic lake. In fact, the small lake is acidic and warm, and it is not recommended to swim there even though there is a path leading down to it. Also, you will occasionally notice volcanic fumes coming up from parts of the volcano (see photo) as well as on the path leading to the volcano crater rim. This shows that Taal Volcano is still active, which is really the truth!

Favorite thing: There are many colourful Bancas on Taal Lake, some of them are for transporting tourists to-and-fro the Taal Volcano island. Even though you may not be going to the Volcano island, it is still worthwhile to take a ride on a Banca and experience the beauty of Taal Lake and surroundings. Personally I enjoyed the Banca ride very much.
