From the start of trek, guys will start following you portraying the path to be hard. I did not listen to them, just passed on smile in return. There is a portion of trek in the beginning that is a bit steep, this is where they will try to convince. After this it is fairly easy, my altimeter indicated a total of 200 meter of hike to the top.
Having said this, there is no harm in enjoying horse ride; you are in fact helping some one. Originally horse ride was in my plan just for the sake of different experience. But when girls inclined towards walking, then I thought it inappropriate to ride while the girls will walk.

Beware of touts in Tagaytay offering tours of Taal Volcano. Once you arrive in Tagaytay, you will be pushed by them to buy tours. Their prices are extremely high and once you are in their trap, you will then have to pay for hidden extras as well on the trek. Better go down to Talisay from Tagaytay and haggle and then you will get price from PHP 1,000 to 1,500. Touts will start from 3,000 and will finally convince you at 2,000.
