Hanging Bridge, Bohol, Philippines
Actually its one of the less attractive tourist destinations in Bohol compared to Chocolate Hills etc ... It is found in the upper area of Loboc River in Bohol.
"The Hanging Bridge" is a foot bridge composed of bamboos and hardened steels which was initially used by locals to cross the river going to the Barangay on the other side of the main road. The Hanging Bridge hangs about 25 meters above the river and facing the Loboc River just in the middle of the bridge, you can shoot perfect photos with sight ... :)
The load limit of the footbridge is only 10 persons to pass at a time and the entrance fee is 10p. Bamboos, Coconuts, Mangroves and other kinds of big trees r visible in the area and also several people around r selling souvenirs as fans, bags, tshirts etc ...
As said, I strongly advice a short stop-by and see around to make some nice photos ....

Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines
"Tagbilaran City" is the provincial capital of the province of Bohol, which u can reach from Cebu with ferry in about 1 hour time by sea .... There r several ferry companies, before buying ur ticket, just check most of them to be able to grab a promotion, which they mostly do ...
The main tourist attractions of the city are Blood Compact Marker, Plaza Rizal, Provincial Capitol Building, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Park, Bohol Museum, Jaycee Promenade and Bohol Cathedral which u can reach by jeeps and busses also be able to bargain w a tricycle to take u there .... In case u wanna see all, I suggest to talk to a cab driver and bargain price for several hours to see that all ...
City has an airport, for flights usually from Manila w low cost airlines as Cebu Pacific, Asian Sprit etc ... So if u dont want to spend a whole week in Bohol, u better fly from Manila to Cebu and stay in Cebu City and make a daily round trip to Tagbilaran Bohol and back ...
A tour, car w a driver, costs you about 2.000p - 2.500p, just bargain as they request more, once I made in about 5 hours time a brief tour of Bohol starting / ending in Tagbilaran, including Blood Compact, Chocolate Hills, Butterfly Garden, Man Made Forest, Loboc River etc, and then did catch back the latest boat ferry to Cebu ....
See my "Bohol" page for more details and photos ...
Very recommendable area to visit with many spots ... :)

Home of the 4th President
Not usually included in the typical Bohol tour itinerary is a drive by the residence of the country's fourth president, Carlos P. Garcia, who's a native of Bohol. We did not specifically request the driver to take us there but he did so out of pride. He noted that Garcia was a president who was never corrupt nor did he enrich himself while in office. And during his term, the Philippines was the second largest economy in Asia next to Japan.
As the photo shows, the only indication that this was Garcia's home is his initials "CPG" on the gate. Located right in the heart of Tagbilaran, there are plans to turn it into a museum (see link). And rightly so, after all how many provinces can boast that a son of theirs became president? At the moment however the place is not open to the public.

Human coconut dehusker
Just off the entrance leading to the Loboc hanging bridge is a one-man show demonstrating the unusual feat of removing coconut husks with his bare teeth (and hands)! This man even boasts of having won several contests and being featured on TV for his teeth's unusual strength, and the speed with which he can dehusk those coconuts. What's interesting to note too, is that the guy has extremely nice looking, white teeth -- obviously he got a set not just notable for its strength, but its appearance too.
Of course when the audience asks him to "perform", he expects to be given some money. I wouldn't call it a tourist trap as it's up to you to hand in a bill, but as I found it an unusual thing (and myself marvelling at how it can be done without a machete or a sharp object which is how it's normally done), I was quite happy to drop a bill for the small "show."

Go to Antequera to see Mag-aso Falls
20 kms from Tagbilaran City is the town of Antequera where you'll find Mag-aso Falls as you descend a rain forest. The old caretaker told us there are 117 steps but I didn't bother to count as I was awed by the lush greens all around. There are twin falls (trio is more like it)cascading to about 10 meters drop. The day we went there, the water was not very clean, muddled by the previous night's rain, but after a while the water became clearer so we were able to appreciate its beauty.
We were lucky to have seen the beauty of Mag-aso Falls after the rains, smelling the fresh greenery around us... but we realized only recently that we were very lucky because we came and left the area safe and sound. A photo buddy informed us of a calamity that happened in the area after heavy rains. (Please read my Warning Tip on this matter.)

Who is here with me?
On each side of the wooden pew is a simple cross carving. They are unassuming in size and location and could easily be overlooked for the Baclayon church's more intricate figures.
I hear Him whisper to me, "child, rest your weary head here."
"I cannot, Lord, for I don't deserve your love."
"The cross was mine to bear and I ask no more from you."
"I cannot come near to you, Jesus, for I have sinned deeply."
"But what sin have I not cleansed with my own blood?" Said He.
"Oh child," the Lord grieved. "I will love you still without your love"
And when I left through the cathedral doors, He walked beside me and whispered once more, "child, rest your weary head here."

One thing to watch the dolphin closely ask the driver of the boat to pick you up in your resort where u stayed like about 5 in the morning, so when you get at the area where the dolphin shows. You don’t need to chased them around all you gonna do is to sit there at the boat and just wait them to show up. Lots of Dolphin.

Buzzin' with the bees
Not many tourists know about Bohol Bee Farm, unless you're lucky enough to have a driver generous enough to stop over . You wil pass by Bee Farm going to Alona beach. From alona beach we hired a van for 700 pesos just to have a 2-hour dinner in the farm. It's about 15 minute- ride from the beach.
On the way to chocolate hills..you can pass by Mahogany forest..just an added scene..plus..Puntod island..the hanging bridge in luboc..the flying limore?(lemur?)with the tarsiers and dont forget to make a wish in the wishing well when you visit Choco Hills..
Bohol Bee Farm
Have a farm tour and an organic dinner at the Bohol Bee Farm on your last day! Call them up and they will fetch you at Alona for P500 round-trip (car seats 8).
There is a resort down south of Dimiao that is real nice. The water falls right into the ocean and they put up a pool downstream. Real nice place where you can enjoy both spring and the sea.
