Balicasag Island is one of the famous dive spots in the Philippines.
Only 45 minutes away by boat from Panglao, the visibility is incredible, the coral cover is excellent and fish are abundant. Large fish found here include barracuda, jacks, parrot fish and garoupa.

We went snorkling (since we don't know how to dive.. LOL).. The boat guide advised us to bring some bread to feed the fishes. The corals were really pretty and the fish were so abundant! It was a real fun experience :)

    Balicasag Island

The small island of Balicasag lies about 10 km south-west of Panglao Island and is surrounded by a coral reef which offers excellent diving and snorkelling. The underwater world here is a marine sanctuary which the local fishermen know and respect. Found in this island is Balicasag Island Dive Resort. Room rates from P1300-1500, including breakfast. Pleasantly furnished duplex cottages, as well as a mediocre restaurant which is expensive to boot. Reservations in Manila. Tel (02) 5242502, and in Tagbilaran at the PTA, Lugod Building, Carlos P Garcia Ave, Tel (038) 4112192.
