birds, birds

by picek

I was very fortunate to catch the view of thousands of birds whirling and screaming in the small park between Capitol house and St. Jose catedral in Tagbilaran just before it got very dark. Amazing sight, birds are really plentiful there! Most interesting - they all seem to get quiet and gone in branches and electric lines within very short time after their 'performance'. Very interesting to see but unfortunately light is too low to make any good picture with normal camera at that time, so just enjoy them watching - it is amusing scene, however! And while you're watching - keep your walets in a secure place as there can be also pick pockets out there with birds - but much closer to the ground!

Python

by Orange_traveller

Some tour guides don't bring the tourists to this place so I placed it under off the beaten path. 10 years ago, this family caught this python snake in their backyard and now it has become a tourist spot. You can touch the snake and have your picture taken beside it. Really cool! There is an added bonus, Marimar. She will entertain you with her Celine Dione songs.

Punta Cruz Watch Tower

by Orange_traveller

Since this is on the other side of Bohol, very few people come and see this place. The watch tower was built by the spaniards as a look out post in 1796. The view from the tower is magnificent. Really breathtaking.

Breathtaking
Mag Aso Falls

by Orange_traveller

You will have to climb down 193 steep steps in order to see the beautiful Mag aso Falls. Very nice veiw but unfortunately we were not able to go for a swim since it rained the night before so the water is a bit muddy. If you have extra time in Bohol, one must come here.

Sandugo ( Blood compact site)

by mikoykoy

This is the site where Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna held their blood compact as a symbol of friendly relationship between Spaniards and the native of Bohol. BLOOD COMPACT - After cutting a small wound at the arm of each of the two leaders, few drops of blood are drawn and place in a separate glass with wine. Witnessed by the followers of both, eEach leader drank the mixture of wine and blood of the other. One thing strange in this shrine is the historical marker which was located almost 100 meters away.

Loboc River Cruise (with Lunch Buffet)

by mikoykoy

Much has been said about the cruise, but one thing I really liked about it is the serenader who casts magic musical scores while taking lunch and enjoying the view of Loboc river. At the end of the river, another group of local folks riding in bamboo raft are eagerly waiting to perform songs you wish to be played for just a small amount of donation.

Bilar butterfly sanctuary

by cHeLLe28

We passed by the town of bilar while having our countryside tour. Our nice tourguide happen to know a butterfly sanctuary in the town of Bilar. We visited it after our chocolate hills encounter. You have to pay an entrance fee of Php 10. But well worth your money, there are a lot of butterflies that can be seen here.... and great photo OPs too! This is where I got to see what a butterfly egg looks like. Hehe, and first time to also get a close up shot of a buttefly.Direction : Fom the town of Carmen (chocolate hills) while taking the path back to tagbilaran. You will pass through the town of Bilar. You will encounter this butterfly sanctuary (left side of the road) before you even reach the man made forest.

Super Star Fish

by sunday_jessica517

Lots of starfish are scattered at the the beach. Though harmless, be careful not to step on them. :-)We thought of taking some of 'em but it's not allowed in the resort. Collecting of shells and sea creatures are prohibited. As one of the sign at the beach says "don't take anything except pictures... don't kill anything except time..."
