    I am very fortunate to have friends in Panglao Island. My guide firts became my good friends and the network grew. It extended to the boatmen, the hotel staff, the other guides and even members of their families. It is really not difficult as the people of Panglao are happy people and quite friendly and accommodating.

    The warmth of the friendship extended to me by my friends in Panglao Island.

    Just like in any place, watching the sun rise has a calming effect. The tranquility of the dawn amidst white sand and gentle sea at Alona Beach provides an experience one cannot easily forget.

    The rising sun, casting subdued hue on the sand and the sea. I have seen them before, but the one in Alona beach is my favorite.

    The less than one kilometer stretch of white beach of Alona is the most popular beach in Panglao. So many had been said about this beautiful place. Most of time I am in Bohol, I stay in Alona Beach as there is no substitute in beginning and ending a day at a beautiful place.

    Aside from the beach, I miss the friendly people of Panglao Island.

    Alona Beach may be divided into three parts: central, western and eastern. Central Alona is near the concrete road which is the access to Alona Beach. Eastern Alona is the left side if you are facing the sea. Geographically, it is part of Barangay Tawala and there are two ways to reach them, either, the Ester Lim Street or the beach front. . Western Alona is on the right side if you facing the sea and it is part of Barangay Danao. Here are the known resorts per zone: EASTERN ALONA 1. CRYSTAL COAST - the resort at the end of the eastern side 2. ALONA TROPICAL BEACH RESORT 3. ALONA PARM RESORT 4. PETER'S HOUSE 5.   • From Manila you can take a plane ride using either PAL or Cebu-Pacific, going to Tagbilaran. The ride from Tagbilaran to Panglao is about 30mins; est. Php300. The room rates with AC is around Php1800-Php3000 per night in Panglao. Go to Scubaworld for Scuba dives. They charge around $22-$24 USD; equipments are in good shape. The dive sites are in Balicasag Island, just 30mins from Panglao (by sea). It is a wall dive drifting with the current. If you have any questions, just e-mail me. Have fun!
