Strange Brew of "Tuba" - Give It a Try
  • Tip Rating:
  • Have seen an old man with a big bamboo flask tied into his waist climbing the tall coconuts by Alona Beach. Took some shots of the action and waited for him to get down. As I presumed, he was collecting coconut nectar to be processed and brewed to "Tuba" . Tuba is a concoction made from the nectars collected and as processed would give a very potent alcohol beverage - a favorite for the locals drank on gatherings or just a loosening-up drink after a day's work. Just in case you are invited for a shot and it's your first time to have a taste of tuba, dont be shy to give it a try. Just dont take too much, it is more potent than you think.

Clean and Make It Immaculately White.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Having extensive coral reefs farther off the sea coast of Panglao Island, seaweeds are washed to the shore everyday and left as the tide ebbs low. It is but normal to have the impression that these seaweeds are eyesore of the ideal white sand all over. But that's nature in balance. No seaweeds means no life underwater. However, getting rid of them is still a job for resort owners to have a pleasing beachfront. Have seen resort crews very early morning gathering the seaweeds and burying them a feet under ground at the shoreline. That's rake and shovel at work. And when the resort guests wake up to see - Darannn! Pristine white sand beach.
