Dumaluan Beach
  • Tip Rating:
  • It's more or less a public beach where you have all the locals having their beach party, picnic in this beach... BUT, the shoreline is very wide and fantastic!

Brace yourself for a day of adventure! With any travel enthusiast you've got to plan ahead or atleast for some. An itinerary can be very helpful to maximize your stay in a certain place. Specially if your on a time constraint. Here's our dilemma: We only have a day...yes you heard me, a day to go around Bohol or atleast to visit the popular places...Don't ask why this happened...ask how we did it :) So we scheduled two things in a day...first is the Island hopping, we decided not to go with the Whale watching since it will take up too much of our time, instead we went to Balicasag for snorkeling and then to Virgin Island for a BREATHTAKING view! Now if i had known that this was such a nice place we would have just went straight to this place instead of going to Balicasag, but hey if you're more into the underwater theme, then Balicasag is the place to be....This costs P2000. We started at 6am, since we have to be back by 9am for the Countryside Tour. the earlier the better, believe me! We had the hotel arrange our breakfast ahead of time so that we could bring them on our way to Balicasag...We got back to the Hotel at around 9am and Mang Bobby was already there for our Countryside Tour. Here's a list of the places we visited:

    -Blood Compact
    -Baclayon Church
    -Loboc River Cruise
    -Chocolate Hills
    -Butterfly Conservation Center
    -Hanging Bridge
    -Tarsier Viewing
    -Manmade Forest
    -Sounvenir Shops
    -Bee Farm

All this in a span of 8 hours on the road which costs us P2800 total. There's 10 of us, 8 adults with 2 kids....which is a steal, since most resorts charge P2500/person for the Countryside Tour! Now this doesn't include the entrance fees which some of this places require, and if you opt to go with the Loboc River Cruise w/ the lunch buffet will be an additional P280/person.

    Snorkelling at Balicasag Island
  • Tip Rating:
  • First time I saw so many fishes up close! Balicasag Island boasts of a fish sanctuary that houses a very diverse collection of fishes and corals. Some fishes are even tame enough to go near and eat bread out of your hands. Best to go from November to March so the waves wont be too rough.

    The Chocolate Hills
  • Tip Rating:
  • 2-3 hours from Alona Beach in Panglao Island a wonder of nature is waiting for you. Old coral reefs have eroded into a spectacular view of 1200+ evenly shaped hills. And since the old coral is barren and can't hold any water in the dry season the only vegetation is grass. This makes the hills a remarkable view!
I arranged a one day trip for approx 900 PHP for one person going from Alona Beach.
