Panglao island is such a beautiful island with breathtaking coast lines. There are also other islands near Panglao that are worthy one's trip. Thus, a boat is indispensable.

There are a lot of boats for hire in the island. You can pick one at Alona Beach, the fishermen village in Barangay Danao and the small wharf near the Panglao church. they all charge reasonable rate. Be sure to indicate the places you want to reach and they are friendly enough to recommend other places without extra cost.

If you are coming from Cebu City and you want to go to Panglao Island, you have to take the ferry first from Cebu to Tagbilaran. There are three ferry lines that have different trip schedule everyday. They are Weesam Express, Oceanjet and Supercat. The fare for one way is around Php500.00. They usually have promos for early bookings and roundtrip tickets and it is highly recommended that you take the same ferry for roundtrip so as to avail the said promo and save money. Also, the trip gets fully booked most of the time so it is advisable to go earlier at the port, say 2 hours of your intended trip.

Private taxi drivers will be harassing you the moment you step out of ferry terminal or Tagbilaran airport. One way taxi transfer is between PHP300-450.

Your hotel will be more than willing to pick you up at PHP450 per trip.

If you really want to reduce the fare to PHP300, walk straight to a nearest cafe for a bottle of Coke (PHP11) and wait for few drivers coming to you the moment all visitors seen to hop on negotiated vehicles. When the supply is more than demand, the price of taxi fare will drop.

International divers from Singapore or Hong Kong can fly Cebu Pacific Air to Cebu Island & arrive at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (Cebu Pacific's hub), catch a speed boat to Tagbilaran one way PHP400. Weesam (Pier 4) is currently offering PHP500 for return tickets.

Divers/visitors from Kuala Lumpur will need to transit at Manila and fly Tagbilaran on next available flight.

Forget about Air Asia/Tiger Airway (arrive at Clark) because you'll need extra hours/day to finally fly into Cebu due to the distance/timing limitation.

There are three companies offering fast fery service between Cebu and Tagbilaran.
Two of them (Weesam and Supercat) leave from pier 4 in Cebu, and the other leaves from pier 1.

Price is approx 400 pesos ($12 USD) per person one way. You'll need to buy a terminal fee ticket as well, about 25 pesos.

Supercat is a much more modern, comfortable boat. The Weesam does offer outside seating, though, for sunny day picture taking on the trip over (would not be fun if it started to rain).

Tricycles are a cheap and easy way to get around the island, although not neccesarily the fastest.
Negotiate your fare before getting in.

Can generally fit two thin people and your bags, but have seen some loaded up with whole families. :)

I suggest you coordinate with your resort/hotel if you need transport going around the island (internal) since the taxis will charge you x 2 of what is in the meter and the tricycles in line outside the entrance of Alona Beach could ask you exaggerated rates.

If your resort has a "mini-ca" service or van service, do book through them and do make price negotiations.

"Minica" is smaller than a regular jeepney but should be comfortable if you are a group of 4-6 persons.

approximately 20 mins is the travel time from tagbilaran airport to panglao island. it is better if you already contacted someone who will fetch you. if none yet...you have to deal with the drivers who are outside the airport offering their services. if you need a ride or tour at bohol...contact ROD at +63-918-5914969. this guy is friendly, knows much about bohol and its sites and will even give you advises so that your stay will be pleasant. he even helped us find a resort.
