When you stroll on the beach, always keep your valuables safe or secured. I placed my VT Flag on my small bag but didnt notice it slipped away from it. When i realized that it's not in the bag, i strolled back to where I was and didnt find it. Someone might have picked it up. oh well, the saying goes: finders keepers loosers weepers.

Panglao Island is teeming with marine resources. They form part of the whole aquatic system. That is why do not hate the sea urchins when you encounter them, in a painful way, while enjoying the water of the island. They range from small to huge and their spikes can really hurt. It is useless complaining about them as they have more right to be in the water than us.
The best thing to do is to avoid them. I know, it is not easy to avoid them, specially when they are under water and you will know they are there until you got stung.. There are, however, ways not to disturb them and disrupt your vacation.
First, avoid the sea weeds. If you love the white sand and the sea, the urchins love the weeds. Swim only in places where the white sand can be seen and avoid the green patches.
Second, buy a pair swimming/diving shoes. Fancy slippers and sandals cost more than them. They are not expensive at all and I suggest that you go to any SM Department Store, they sell that kind of shoes for only P200.00.

Be sure to take good mosquito repellant.
Don't see any during daytime on the beach, but the little bastards come out at night and devour you when you're sleeping.
