Our tour guide, the best tour guide in Bohol, Kuya Rod, took us to this local favorite restaurant. We had their special ati-atihan chicken for just 55 pesos! we also ordered their sisig. The chicken is what you call sinugba or grilled. The chicken was juicy and very tasty. the place is not airconditioned but it was comfortable and it was clean. The waiters are all very nice.

We were supposed to go to MR restaurant, since we haven’t taken our lunch from Manila, but the van driver and tour guide told us its expensive there and that place was not as popular as before which was due to mismanagement, the food is not as good like the old times and the price has increased a lot!
And he was right! We left Sinugba ni Abdul not just with full stomach but with satisfying experience after taking our lunch there, we even came back for dinner on our second day after the countryside tour, since our dinner at Trudis on the first day was disappointing….
On our first day we ordered, 10 rice, kinilaw, sizzling tanigue, sizzling squid, sinigang na baboy, 5chicken sinugba, 1pork sinugba, 2fresk buko juice in shell, 5viva mineral water, 1coke and our bill........around P748! So cheap less than a hundred per person! We we’re group of 8 then.
Favorite Dish: Sizzling Tanigue
Kinilaw
Chicken Sinugba

We checked-in at Isis Bungalow but we never tried their food except for the free breakfast until our last day since we’re running out of time so we pre-ordered our food. Then we realized we should have not underestimated this restaurant for it really serves good tasting food and the price is right for the serving!
We are seven in a group, we ordered seafood karekare, beef caldereta, pork asado, steamed lapu-lapu in oyster sauce, crab and corn soup, 2 coke in can and 2plates of rice, it only costs us P1104, we’re all full when we left the resto we almost not finished the food because of the big serving considering four of us were boys.
Among the restaurants we've been (Trudis, Mahayahay Pizza Restaurant) this is the only one which serves free water!
Favorite Dish: seafoods are fresh
pork asado really tastes good!

This is not your ordinary lunch. You get to eat in style while enjoying cruise in the postcard perfect setting of the Loboc river.
It is a buffet lunch cost Php 260. But well worth it. The food was great! Hehe, it passed my taste! Bout 5 different kinds of menu. There were fish and pork and lots of fresh fruits for dessert.
You will be serenaded by their wonderful in house singer. He was very good in combining songs. The timing in change or shift of his songs was very good! He sang song from the time of dad up to the not so recent songs that age group of 20++ can enjoy. hehe...
I particularly enjoy watching the other floating restaurants passing by while we were cruising the river. Everybody would wave with one another like they really know each other. Its a great feeling to just loosen up and enjoy nature.....
Favorite Dish: I love the lechon kawali!

We found this place during our second dinner. Upon exploring the road near Alona Beach, we came across this place. They are your ordinary chicken grill stand. Much like andoks but with no name. \
Cost for a whole chicken is Php 130-140. Size of chicken is good for 2-3 persons. Very tasty The provided "sawsawan" was a mixture of soysauce and vinegar.
Favorite Dish: Chicken!

This place was ok I guess. Although I wouldn't recommend it if you really want tasty food. The fried chicken was half cooked and porkchop was a bit overcooked. The pork belly was not well marinated.
On the better side of the menu the only one that passed out taste was the tuna. Hehe, it better taste good since it cost php250.
Here's our receipt :
4 pork bbq - 60
1 pork belly - 100
1 tuna - 250
1 chicken - 40
rice - 15/cup
Favorite Dish: Probably the tuna belly.

Alona Kew has a pretty restaurant with warm service and quite good food but devoid of a good view. It is one of the more expensive restos we visited. The serving, however, justify the cost (though not so big) but can't say the same for the location. The restaurant is not just non-beachfront (which is not bad per se), but fronted by another resort which is not a very pretty site. The location could have completed the ambiance worthy of an expensive meal had it had a good view of the beach. It may be prettier at night though with good lighting.
If you want relatively good food and willing to pay the price this resto is for you.
Favorite Dish: All the food we ordered were quite tasty: Chicken, Beef with Broccolli and Sweet and Sour (a little too sour) Pork.

Captain's Grill, if I'm not mistaken, is the resident restaurant of Aquatica. Reasonably priced with nice tables and chairs fronting the beach, one would wonder why there wasn't much customer flocking the resto (at least when we were there) compared with Trudis.
The food was average, a little too tough on the meat but tasty and with quite big serving for the price. The food, though, didn't discourage me from coming back... it was the service! The servers appeared to be so bored and wanting to go home that we didn't feel welcome. Whatever happened to service with a smile...
Made me want to look for their "captain" and file my complaint! ;>

When I first saw Trudis, I thought, it was like a carinderia (like a cheap local restaurant with simple ambiance) with sari-sari store (filipino mini-grocery/variety store) on the side. But when I looked at the menu, it was definitely more expensive that a carinderia and with more variety. It was, however, cheaper than the rest of the restos at Alona that we've been to.
The servers were very accommodating and the food, not bad. I had the impression that they can even serve you instant food that can be found in their sari-sari store. The corned beef and soup we had tasted like it came fresh from the shelves! Very down-to-earth yet satisfying.
You can even order soda by the liter!
Favorite Dish: Thanks to Trudis a bottle of mineral water, bar of soap and can of soda was just a stone throw away!

The European Restaurant is the resto of Bohol Divers Resort. It is a "full-service" restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a bar for nice drink by the beach. Inspite of its name, The European Restaurant also serves Filipino, American, and Oriental cuisine.
Located at the second floor, it provides a good view of the beach as well as the pool and garden nearby. The staff are friendly enough and the price quite reasonable. What needs improvement is the food. Generally, food is not so bad. However, it is also something you will not get out of your way for. Had the food been great, people will visit that side of the beach more often given the restos great location.
Favorite Dish: I like their flamed banana, bacon, shanghai rice and sizzling pork. Other food tended to be a little too salty, the fish fillet not fully deboned and they serve star margarine with sugar bits for butter.
