Daet Things to Do

  • Surfing, Skimboarding, Ultimate frisbee,...

Bagasbas beach is best for surfing offering bigger waves than i experienced compared to Zambales. There are places to rent surfboards, skimboards right in front of the beach. Ultimate frisbee if you have a disc. Since the beach is really big, there is definitely place to play. We went there during an event, and yet we still had a huge space to play...

  • Live Band Bar

Probably the only town in bicol that never sleeps is Daet. The nightlife lasts till morning. I would recommend you visit D@etLive bar. This place is classy and lively. The best local and manila bands perform here nightly. Hi tech lights and impressive sounds with sound proofed walls making the bands sound so cool and not noisy. Warm and cozy...

  • Surfing!

If you are looking for a not-so crowded place to surf, then head to Bagasbas Beach! The beach itself has fine gray sands. As fine as the sands in Boracay, only it's gray. Waves at certain time of day seems high for me (I'm not a surfer). From the town proper (called "Centro" by the locals), hail a tricylce (the taxi in town) and tell the driver...

Daet Restaurants

  • Try out sisig pizza..

The food we tried was Sisig pizza and Alvino's special. The price is not too cheap, but the taste was okay. Sisig pizza was really eating crunchy sisig on a pizza. There are a lot of variety of food here; pizza, pasta, salad, grilled food, etc.. Ambiance is nice, with open space and are with open air. Service is also just right; not slow...

  • Cheap but long long service

We had lunch in this place at around 1pm and our experience was that the one serving us was not enthusiastic that we were there. It took 45min - 1 hour just to serve us food and there was no people inside. The food was cheap and was so-so in my opinion. Ambiance is not much as you would really go there just to eat cheap. Regarding service, we are...

  • The Best Pork Chops in Town!

A typical tapsilog place in a humble setting. Self-service, which is a good thing. Fast and easy menu, pretty cheap too - only P50.00 for the tapsilog and porksilog. If you're hungry, come to this place. Their porksilog (pork chop, fried rice and fried egg) meal is famous.

  • Great Food! Great Ambience!

The restaurant has a cozy homey feel, with it's bamboo-and-nipa-hut look. It's a place to bring your family and your friends. Their menu has a great variety of dishes and desserts. Service is good and fast, all you need to do is to press the buzzer to call the waiters. During hot days, the restaurant's water mist system makes guests feel cool and...

  • Pizza and More

Alvino's Pizza is the brain child of Alvin Obusan, just about the most popular surfer in the Daet area. Upon reaching Bagasbas Beach, I was eager to try his pizza, which other sites had mentioned. However, I was disappointed to find that the place was closed for renovation. A few days later, I was delighted to find out that there is another branch...

This is probably the best bar in bicol. Good bands hi tech lights and sounds system. Warm and lively atmosphere. Sound proofed establishment feels like you're in a recording studio. This place makes you feel as if you're in your own party. Nightly gigs featuring the best of local and Manila bands. Truly a place you'll never forget.

Dress Code: Smart Casual. tank tops and slippers are discouraged.

Daet Transportation

  • Trike/Jeep around Daet

Tricycle/Trike is the main transportation around Daet. If you are a local, if my memory serves me right; first 2 km or first 5km costs P7/person. But usually if you are from not around town, you should know how to haggle with the price. Bagasbas beach to Town should cost P10/person and should be the correct amount. Usually offering P40-50 per trike...

  • Bus to and from Daet

Getting to Daet can be done via taking a 6-8 hour bus ride from Manila.Option 1: Take a Philtranco bus from Pasay/EDSA or Cubao/EDSA. There is a a non-aircon bus which is cheaper but no reservation. There is the AC/Airconditioned bus which has its stops and the most expensive one is GS/Goldlines i think wherein there is a Restroom inside this bus...

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you wish to catch how local fishermen conduct their business, come to the fish port (pantalan) in the morning. You have to whisper your bid to the agent for 1 tub of several kilos of fish. It was fun to watch, but the smell is a little overpowering.
