  • Hassle-Free Ride to Camiguin

by kathyme Updated Nov 2, 2010

Riding Paras Seacat from Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin took only 2 hours and 30 minutes when we tried it. it leaves CDO at 8.30am and Camiguin at 4pm daily. Now, it's just one ride from CDO to Camiguin.

View deck and Main deck have the same price. View deck is open air and Main deck is airconditioned. Students and Senior Citizens get discounts but they need to show their IDs.

Check their website for more info.

    Bus Balingoan to CDO

by limledi Updated May 21, 2010

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

You can also take a bus from Balingoan Port to Cagayan de Oro City. This is safer than taking a van. The trip takes more than 2 hours. Costs P110 for aircon buses & cheaper at P65 for non-aircon. The bus can make frequent stops along the way for passenger pick-up & drop-off.
From Balingoan Port, you have to head out and walk towards the highway where the Balingoan bus terminal is located.

In Balingoan Port, you can take a van to Cagayan de Oro City that will take 2 hrs. This is said to be quicker than the bus which stops frequently along the way. The van will take you direct to your destination if it is full already upon taking off. You may tell the driver in advance if you wish to alight before the final stop. The driver will pick up passengers along the way if the van is still not full. The ride costs P100 per pax.
From Balingoan Port, you have to head out and walk towards the highway where the Balingoan bus terminal is located. We took the van from the terminal.

    Pumpboat to Mantigue Island

by limledi Updated May 21, 2010

You will have to take a pumpboat ride to Mantigue Island for a price of P550 roundtrip. The ride takes 20 minutes from the main island. It was a very enjoyable ride with the cool sea breeze. The banca we took was way better than the one going to White Island coz it has a shade to protect us against the heat of the sun & is also bigger & cleaner. You can stay beyond the allotted 3-4 hours in the island for an additional charge. You can go to Barangay San Roque, Mahinog by land for a shorter boat ride to the island. Mahinog is 14 km south of Mambajao & takes 20 minutes to reach there. Don't forget to bring your snorkel for the marine sanctuary. The boatman will just wait for you.

    Multicab with Mr. Frank Pojas

by limledi Updated May 21, 2010

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I highly recommend Mr. Frank Pojas as your guide/driver in Camiguin Island. He drives around a multicab & also knows how to fix car troubles in case the need arise. What I like most about him is he doesn't mind if you exceed the 8 hours limit. He's also very knowledgeable about the island & knows what he is doing. A nice guy, he doesn't take advantage of tourists. He narrated that one time, a tourist let him handle all the finances & even left his wallet for him to take charge. Mr. Pojas just liquidated to him afterwards so this just show that you can really trust this guy. He charges P1500 daily. I also appreciated his nice gesture of giving us fresh buko straight from his house. As a sign of our appreciation, my husband sent him pictures of tourist spots which he can show to his future clients. When I go back to Camiguin, I will surely hire him again.

BEST IS TO TAKE A MOTORCYCLE...ANDREW PENALOSA

    by DJ_RO Updated Nov 4, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Motorelas and Multicabs are fine although expensive. If you are traveling in pairs of 2. I suggest you take the Habal Habal(Motorcycle). It is only P600 for 2 people for the whole day. Plus the fact that it can go anywhere you want. But you can bring the price down to P500 if it is not during the summer peak. Multicabs charge a lot but only go to very few places only 4 at the most since the gasoline prices are steep. Plus it cannot go to places that fast.

If you are taking a Multicab around the island I suggest you make sure the driver brings you to more than 4 places. Ask before you ride just to make sure. So the trip for the day isn't wasted.

Take the Habal-habal. The guy that brought us around is very nice and friendly. His name is Andrew Peñalosa Call him or text him and tell him Richie Yao recommended him to you. I paid P300 the whole day but since we were 2 we paid P600. Andrew brought us around the island from Sun up (8:00AM) to Sun down (7:00PM) That is 11 hours worth of driving a habal habal(motorcycle). Plus Andrew drives well and will carry most of your stuff. Plus he is very respectful and calls me sir even if i don't ask for it. PLUS YOU HAVE A BETTER VIEW OF CAMIGUIN! Here is his number: 0921 - 2998006 Your Camiguin trip will really be exciting I assure you!!! Enjoy!!! UPDATE: HIS NEW NUMBER IS 0918 - 3430950

    Tatay Junior's Green Multicab

    by cris_ann Updated Apr 24, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The best way to tour around Camiguin is by utilizing a Multicab, this is a great choice for families, students, or a group of friends with a maximum of a dozen members. It costs P1500 (subject to change), for a whole day.

Aside from a convenient ride, it's great to have a patient and cool driver who knows where the hot spots are and whose time frame is flexible, this someone is Junior Aguiman or a.k.a. Tatay.

    I recommend driver DINDO BOLO

by livethedream Updated Mar 20, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Call DINDO BOLO: 09197447938
$1500/day on multi-cab to tour around the island.

I revisited Camiguin this month and I'm glad to have found Dindo thru Rosalie of Enigmata. Very very happy with Dindo's service. Professional, informative and courteous...and helpful too. At one stop, I realized I dropped something at the beach just as we're pulling off the carpark and he ran off to find it for me. He took us to places that are off the usual tourist trail: snorkelling with the giant clams at Kibila Beach, lazy afternoon on a hammock at Mantigue Island, Macao cold springs. He actually went with us to Mantigue and not just waited in the main island.

Dindo's been driving for Enigmata guests for 8 years, very much recommended by Rosalie of Enigmata and now, by me.
